Hey :D

Join me for a weekend at Japan Addict 2026 !From amazing cosplayers to the unique atmosphere of the convention, there was plenty to enjoy during these two days.
I captured some of my favorite moments, costumes, and discoveries throughout the event. While
I had a great time overall, a few things didn't quite live up to my expectations. Watch until the end to find out why. :/

The intro was done by a big French YouTuber (Sora) because I almost fainted during filming in the intense heat. Sorry, I didn't tell him to speak in English :D

WOW. It's insane how times change, 20 years ago if you dressed up like a Anime or Star Wars or Star Trek hero/villain you were beaten at school and called a nerd.

Saying that 30 years ago you were called a nerd for playing video games now everyone does it including the Saudi Royal Prince.

Not sure if I could wear a costume all day or a mask all day in the heat of a Japanese summer 😅

Imagine your one and only alien scouting mission to Planet Earth lands you in the middle of the Japanease Comicon: "Sir, the Earthlings are a technological mix of simple stabbing and slicing weapons combined with sophisticated robotics"

I'm in France.
France is also a big consumer of Japanese culture 😉
We are from france

Hi Shadowra,

Your post brought back some great memories! I actually lived and studied in Japan for three years.

When I first started at the language school, we had a really diverse group—four classmates from Sweden, two from Shanghai, three from Nepal, and the rest were from Taiwan. One evening, our Swedish classmates decided to host a party and treat us to some authentic Swedish food (and drinks, of course!). We had the music blasting, and someone was playing the guitar and singing. We were having such a blast that the Japanese police actually showed up twice to tell us to keep it down!

At that time, I was living in Fukuoka. One of my favorite memories there was the annual spring festival. Everyone would dress up in yukatas and gettats (wooden clogs)—it was an amazing and fun experience.

Speaking of anime, Taiwan is actually one of the biggest consumers of Japanese animation, partly due to our deep historical ties, including over 50 years of Japanese governance. I still love watching anime myself whenever I have some free time. Plus, Taiwan has a massive and vibrant cosplay culture just like Japan!

If you ever plan a trip to Asia, you should definitely consider visiting Taiwan first before heading over to Japan. I’re sure you’d love it here!
