You can do it now. I'm playing with it. See attached screenshot

Unfortunately, VMOS is still running on Android 5.1.1 and not Android 9/10 so arm64-v8a apps cannot be installed.

It uses Google Chrome by default and your system VPN unlike the ability to use separate VPNs in your PC/Laptop when running a VM.

Read the installation instructions from below and get the latest v1.0.52

A test run at browserleaks.com shows no leak and fingerprints whatsoever. The VM isolated my system very well

When rooted

App using a vpn is not functioning in VMOS eg. BlackFog Privacy, AdGuard, Blokada, dedicated VPN etc. BlackFog Privacy and Blokada can be installed and enabled but I'm not seeing anything being blocked. Adguard's protection cannot be enabled. Similarly cannot run a second VPN.

Others

Kaspersky Mobile Security cannot install
Avast Mobile Security firewall cannot be activated
TOR browser cannot connect
Revo Uninstaller Mobile sometimes finicky
Droid Wall and AFWall+ cannot enable firewall

I think all these could be due to the fact that VMOS is using a Linux kernel

Summary

It is still very new and running Linux kernel.... so expect compatibility issues with other apps. Since test sites like browserleaks.com, whoer.net etc cannot identify (or detect) your phone hardware info it is good if you want to isolate it....... that is preventing it from being fingerprinted while surfing the net

One thing I noticed is that the MAC address has been changed which is great if you are surfing public WiFi

Ads are back in VMOS.
Big changes to the instructions. I added " *updated* " to parts that were changed.
VMOS requires an additional download "VMOS Unlocker" (calculator app) and links are in PART 1.
VFIN is not required to open the game, but it may be required in the future.
VMOS 1.0.53 + VMOS Unlocker + No VFIN is confirm working with Pokemon Go 0.167.1
