Advice Request VPN app or built in for ikev2

Which is more preferred for using an ikev2 VPN; the VPNs custom app or the Windows 11 built-in support? The killswitch aspect is moot, since you can setup a taskill /f /im script using the task scheduler and event ID 20226.

I prefer IKEv2 instead of dealing with vpn apps and their complicated options. Manual connection is always the best in my opinion.

I tend to agree. But make sure you click on the adapter properties and make sure you're using maximum encryption. Also, with manual ikev2 the adapter number never changes. So you'll always be able to keep the connection private for firewall purposes. When I use any VPN app the adapter number tends to change with every reconnection, so the private versus public network profile cannot be established.
