I just installed this Semana promotion in Shadow mode and the first thing that happened after install is Shadow Defender shut down. I ran the installer by Virus Total and only got one detection so thought it was safe.

is this safe? is it just an incompatibility?

Since there really is no one in this forum that can give you detailed information about this company and rebranded/altered version of Zemana, if you would like to be assured and stay safe, i would highly recommend avoiding this and just using zemana.

They claim the file associated here has been recompiled, and that it has been just a False Positive from the AV companies.

I misstyped and meant Zemana. I though I had installed it in SD before and it worked fine. That promotion download comes from te Zemana site.

While I appreciate the 380 day license kindly shared by @lapepe, after some further research on Zemana AntiLogger it appears to be somewhat of an abandoned product. On another site they mention that it hasn't been updated since 2014 so it has questionable results which may explain some false positives which it seems to exhibit. This is consistent with the warning about its tendency for FPs posted above by @illumination.

If i am not wrong Zemana Antilogger is the same product with Zemana Antimalware, plus some additional features, so the results probably will be the same.

It is because of using several engines that FP's can and most likely will be seen at one point or another compared to using just a single engine scanner.
