I have never had that & can't find any reference to it, you may have a program that is creating it, as bot says have a look if any other processes are running that ought not to & run a second opinion scan such as ESET etc. & see if anything shows up, how long has the file being reappearing? Have you installed a new program recently?? That is a likely cause - I have a glimmer in back of mind I had something similar once but can't remember what.

Are you sure it is a text file? When you click on properties and look at its location, is it located on Desktop or is it a shortcut that points to another location?

Hardly think this is malware, since why would a cybercriminal drop a visible file on the desktop? But to be sure, as mentioned above, create a malware removal thread accordingly.

You would be surprised, I've seen some weird and bizarre in my lifetime. Though your right probably just a innocent file.

Just curious- does the text file list various executable applications (such as firefox.exe, or chrome.exe, etc)?

Also, would you happen to be a Gamer?

If you haven't, check startup and see if its there , if yes you can right click and choose options .Open File Location,...Search Online, ... or Properties, of course the option to disable it also is there. Another thing I have tried with some success is to see if you find it in your "registry editor" there you can usually delete,anyway GL

Are you running an App called UniKey ? Its possible you extracted it to desktop and that is why it keeps coming back.

Try uninstalling that App if you have it installed or reinstall it to its own folder. That should stop it from appearing on your desktop.

If its not this App then it maybe another App that you extracted to your desktop.

It may look empty in Notepad, but have you checked if the file size is 0 kb?

This looks suspicious. Spelling mistake for PROCESS, keeps returning after deletion, persistence and lastly user is unaware of the file.

Is OP sure this is a .txt file? Could be a double extension.

check the file size to make sure that it is just a normal text file and try to remove using apps like ccleaner.
