What 64bit OS to install ?

I wanna upgrade my PC and I wanna know what to install W8 or W10 ?

Being that Windows 10 is not a stable release you should go with Windows 8.1 and you can upgrade to Windows 10 for free after it's final release later this Summer.

Windows 10 has not been yet released. Should you choose Windows 10, expect the possibility of bugs. Right now, I am running the Technical Preview (64-bit on my main system) for testing purposes, and for me it appears to be quite stable, however I am yet to find bugs on this build (for me everything is OK which I need to use).

I recommend sticking to Windows 8 and installing Windows 10 in a Virtual Machine. Unless you would like to take the risks of potential bugs on a unfinished Operating System.

You could always dual-boot Windows 8 and Windows 10 so you can use Windows 8 for work-related things (since Windows 8 is released and Windows 10 is not complete) and use Windows 10 for testing purposes, exploration of the new Operating System as it continues in it's fine development?

Personally, I think Windows 10 is already great and I am loving the work Microsoft have been doing for the OS. However, Windows 10 simply is not yet complete which is why I recommend to stick to Windows 8 until it is. Windows 10 will be free for you if you stick to Windows 8 for the upgrade when it's finished to be used, so you could always wait to use it when it's stable.

I also recommend Windows 8 over 10 for the simple reason it is not yet fully developed. I've used build 10074 and has been very stable for me except when wanting to use other AV's other than the built in Windows Defender. Not all security solutions are compatible.

This would be best if you really want to use Windows 10. I also want to add that Windows 7 will also get Windows 10 upgrade for free (correct me if I'm wrong here please).

I have Windows 8, Windows 10 and Ubuntu. Works well for me.

Win10 has keyloggers built in. I would not go near it for normal work. And when the final comes out, you're trusting that MS has turned them off and that hackers won't turn them back on, or that MS has removed them.

Untrue, partially.

The Windows 10 Insider Program release has logging capabilities. However, Microsoft have ensured all users running the RTM of Windows 10 will not include this data collection.

Windows 10 Preview is unstable and mostly unsupported by many software vendors, this will change upon Windows 10 RTM release.

If you have a license for Windows 8, you can install and upgrade to Windows 8.1 Update 1 via Windows Store for no cost.
Or a licence for Windows 8.1, but you may need to install Update 1 that was released April 2014.

Windows 10 Preview should be installed with caution.

Go to Windows 8.1 and wait for the official primetime of major version upgrade which coming soon to the Windows Update server, and as mentioned use VM for testing the technical release/beta but again if willingly then take a risk.

Very practical concept, go to the stable first than premature type.
