Question Those State Side who are using Kaspersky what happens?

Please provide comments and solutions that are helpful to the author of this topic.
I am not talking your PC blows up etc.

I am talking about installation; does it install but just installs the jenky alternate version?
It depends heavily on which software and which installer/source you’re talking about, and there isn’t one universal behavior.

If you’re asking in general about a “bad” or modified installer (cracks, repacks, shady mirrors, etc.), then common outcomes are:

  • It installs the real program, but bundled with junk
Example: You get the actual app, but also adware, browser extensions, crypto miners, or background services.
  • It installs a modified / “janky” version
The core app may work, but:
    • Features are broken or missing
    • Updates don’t work
    • Strange errors, crashes, or instability
    • Unexpected connections/network activity
  • It pretends to install, but is mainly malware
The “program” is just a decoy and the real purpose is to drop malware (stealers, RATs, ransomware, etc.). Sometimes it shows a fake error and you think install failed, while the payload is already running.
  • It just fails with an error
In some cases nothing meaningful gets installed – you just get an error – but even here, it may still have dropped files or changed settings in the background.

There’s no reliable way to say “it will only install a janky alternate version and nothing worse” just from the description. Untrusted installers can do anything your user account is allowed to do.

If you can, please share:
  • The exact program name/version
  • Where you downloaded it from (official site, third‑party mirror, etc.)
  • Any odd behavior during or after install

With that info, people here can give you a more concrete answer and suggest safe checks (e.g. VirusTotal, specific security tools) without guessing.
