The official all-time Texas state record high is:

120°F (48.9°C)​

It has been reached at two locations:

Seymour — August 12, 1936
Monahans — June 28, 1994
but of course France is greener and grows grapes for fine wines. (Texas has a vineyard somewhere too iirc )

today at my home the high was T = 97.8 F / 36.6 C with Tdp = 78.9 F / 26.1 (dew point for non-wx geeks)(ie not exactly a dry heat as in "but it's a dry heat!")

And I know it's not a comparison for a country that isn't used to the high temps, or known for them, but I remember when my buddy and I in the 1970's would talk about some of the hotspots in the US, Needles CA would usually come up.

The hottest temperature ever officially recorded in Needles, California is 125°F (51.7°C). This extreme high has been reached on multiple occasions, most recently on June 20, 2017, and previously on July 16, 1925, and July 17, 2005.

My city did it, we passed 43C and I am supposed to work tomorrow on the sun, in 42C+, lovely. It is so "chill" inside, I will miss the weekend.

So I'm surprised to see German forecast in °F -- I assumed all EU using °C. I recall driving from Chicago to Dallas in 1985 (first time in Dallas) and at midnight the temp was 95 F ie unheard of in Chicago at midnight. Could not believe it, and I was just passing thru North Texas to "deep in the heart of the Texas"

That site I think changes C into F depending on location. Yeah it's hot in Dallas, looking forward to some BBQ & WC2026.

The issue here for example in the UK & north Europe is housing here was not designed for higher temperatures my house though very nice was built in early 1960's with very large (huge) windows to let light in & designed to let heat in, & designed for heating a house well & does that, this is fine normally but breaking temperature records on a monthly basis cause issues that don't exist in countries where heat is normal & infrastructure was designed for that - Similar situations occur where low temperatures occur in countries that are not accustomed to that??

36.5 C & sunny here in South Texas (sorta cool for summer) 4 miles down the road at the airport it was 38 C. Forecast same tomorrow. No rain anytime soon. We do have pretty good air-conditioning Electric utility cost in the summer $400+/month and that's with inside thermostat set no lower than 25 C - 26 C

Hey I used to have PowertoChoose Champion energy at 6.5c/kw when I lived there...i be it's a tad higher now.
