Love that movie. I watched it first on VHS.. Classic!
So I finished up watching the first season of Black Sands anIcelandic Crime Thriller. Black Sands (TV Series 2021– ) 
6.6 | Crime, Drama, Thriller the IMDB rating isn't far off, maybe a 7. It took at least 4 to 5 episodes before much progressed. All a bit dark with lighting and some gratuitous scenes to fill the plot. We'll see if I end up watching the 2nd season when it comes out here free to watch on catchup /shrug. Yeah 7/10.

Another small but good but very short 2 season Nordic drama.

Not a movie per say but a series. Alien: Earth
it's akin to 1985 Aliens and each episode acting and quality is closer to a full featured film rather than a series. So far there have been 3 episodes and so far so good; I just hope that it doesn't run out of steam.

I started to watch this the other day, but it just looked looked like a copy of the first Alien and I put it aside, but read somewhere it is good so I will revisit...
Went to theater to see Weapons. Black comedy psychological thriller -- sorta "different" -- not sure where it was going but it got there. I like Julia Garner
I have recently watched Elio (2025), a nice tear jerker, it reminded me of Luca (2021). It is about friendship.
Wow, I did not expect much from this movie, but it was as good as Constantine (2005).
on Prime it costs $2.99US to stream, the blurb reads as good, IMDB shows users like it more than critics.
On youtube Letterman from circa 2013 interviewed magician Rick Jay re documentary Deceptive Practice: The Mysteries & Mentors of Ricky Jay. He is amazing with a deck of cards. It is available on Prime as documentary... I started it late last night and will finish today.

My Thoughts
Over a decade ago, when I was working at L Binding Service.My former female classmate AM, who was also my coworker.
Recommended this movie to me.
She did not spoil the movie.
She pretty much let me know that it was Robin Williams, like you have not seen him before.
I finally watched this movie after all these years.
Thanks to YouTube’s official YouTube Movies & TV YouTube channel.
Which had this movie available for free with ads.
AM was correct, this movie is Robin Williams like I have not seen him before.
He did a great job with this performance.
He went to a dark place with this role.
The ending of this movie left me with a negative feeling.
A bit of a sad / depressive / somber gut punch.
Where you want to go to a quiet place alone, and ponder / reflect / think quietly.
Like after watching the Black Mirror Season 4 episode Crocodile (episode 3), or the movie Saint Maud, et cetera.
I like it when I film can leave a lingering feeling & reaction with you as the audience / viewer.
The bright & sterile visuals of some scenes also add to the atmosphere of this movie.
There are some things about Sy Parrish & his life that I can relate to.
Like with the character Maud in Saint Maud, who I also can relate to in some ways.
I would recommend watching this movie if you get a chance one day.
I would rate this movie a 4 out of 5.

My Thoughts
This movie reminded me of the movie Love Lies Bleeding.I think that I liked Magazine Dreams slightly better than that movie.
But I could be wrong.
Jonathan Majors did a better job than I had expected.
And he clearly worked hard on his body, to fit the role physically.
It is a shame that most people will never hear of or will see this movie to see his performance.
I am the only person I know in real life who saw this movie.
This movie went in a direction that I did not expect.
The character Killian Maddox was also a surprise, to me, he seemed to possibly have autism or something like that.
If so, it is rare to have a main character like that, especially one doing bodybuilding.
This movie also explores mental health, trauma, et cetera.
This is not a feel good movie, so be prepared.
I would probably rate it a 3.5 out of 5.
I'm now revisiting Succession, of which I only watched a helping of season one before. I've definitely been enjoying it.
