Pandoras Box or maybe it's called Pandora. Anyhow the spaceship one.I can say for sure that Inception is one of them, I do not even have to think about that one.
Grave Of The Fireflies - This movie scarred me for life, after watching it back in college, my reaction was: "This is the best movie that I never want to see again.". I tried to watch it again a year or two ago, but I started crying during the first scene & I stopped. I cried watching the anniversary trailer for this movie, and I cried telling my mom about it.
The Fall (2006) - I saw this movie a year or two ago, it was a pleasant artistic & cinematic & even emotional experience, I wish that I would have known about it back when it came out.
Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind - I saw this movie in maybe the 2010s, it is Jim Carrey like you have not seen him before, his best non-comedy role that I have seen so far. This is a unique movie that I think couples would enjoy even more than I did.
A Patch Of Blue - I had the fortune of seeing this on TV randomly back when I was still in public school, I related to it & liked it so much, that I bought it on VHS back then.
Gladiator - This the first movie that I ever saw on DVD & on a big screen possibly plasma TV, it was amazing seeing the quality difference between DVD & VHS. The visuals, music, dialogue, costumes, et cetera were great in this movie.
The Thirteenth Floor - I saw this movie a couple of years ago after the DVD cover kept catching my attention at work at the library. I was blown away, and shocked that I had never heard of it. I have no idea how this one slipped under the radar.
Amélie - Besides a few sex scenes, this could have been a family movie, I wish that they would remove those scenes. Other than that, this is another film that I related to & liked & has a positive magic to it. Audrey Tautou was perfect in this role.
Blade - I did not see this movie until several years after it had come out, thanks to one of my school friends. This franchise is a guilty pleasure of mine, we watched all the Blade movies in movie theaters after this one.
Underworld - This is another guilty pleasure franchise that was introduced to me by that same school friend. We watched all the Underworld movies in movie theaters after this one.
The Shining - I only saw clips of this when I was a kid, it was not until maybe the late 2010s that I finally saw this horror masterpiece. The visuals, the colors, blew me away with how well they held up.
Rear Window (1954) - I saw this movie once in the late 2010s, Grace Kelly was amazing, her kissing scene was my favorite in movie history. I was impressed with the mystery et cetera in a small area.
Princess Mononoke - Back when Cartoon Network was showing various Studio Ghibli movies, this was possibly the favorite one of most of my brothers & I.
Saint Maud - This one may or may not deserve to be here, but I saw this movie about two years ago & it was one of the best movies that I saw that year. I would have to see it again to see if I still feel that way, I have a feeling that I will not like it as much the second time.
Predestination - I saw this movie either earlier this year or the end of last year, finally, it kept my attention & had a twist, several twists.
The Science Of Sleep - This movie is a bilingual film with French, English, and a bit of Spanish. It is a unique, quirky, somewhat romance, with dreams.
The Cell (2000) - The only reason that this movie is on this list is because it disturbed me so much when I saw it at my cousin's house back in my public school days. It was a surreal, creepy psychological horror movie. We watched it two times.
Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG – Individual Eleven - This is basically the second season of Ghost In The Shell Stand Alone Complex 2nd Gig stripped down into a movie. That season is one of my favorite anime TV shows of all-time.
Cowboy Bebop: The Movie - This is a movie for my other favorite anime TV show of all-time, Cowboy Bebop, it is not as good as the best episodes of the show. It is more like a somewhat above average episode of the show in a movie form, but it still has some classic moments of music & visuals & action & quotes / good voice acting.
Dr. Strangelove Or: How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Bomb - I watched this back in college in an American History class, some of the scenes are classic, and it shows some reality of our world in comedic form.
Casablanca - I saw this only once, it truly is a classic with the visuals, music, and acting.
Alien - A science fiction classic and my favorite of the Alien films.
Welcome To Hoxford: The Fan Film - A short film so good that it should have been turned into a movie, it is a shame that my brother GC & I are the only people I know in the world who saw this short film.
Untamed - A dialogue-less short film where the music & visuals tell the story, it made me cry or tear up.
Angel's Egg - A surrealist anime art film that was lost media, until the announcement that this year there will be a 4K restoration available in some movie theaters.
Just watched this last night.Rear Window (1954) - I saw this movie once in the late 2010s, Grace Kelly was amazing, her kissing scene was my favorite in movie history. I was impressed with the mystery et cetera in a small area.
Nice, so what are your thoughts about this movie?Just watched this last night.
Oh, you must mean the 2009 science fiction movie Pandorum, with Ben Foster, I also struggled to remember the name of that.Pandoras Box or maybe it's called Pandora. Anyhow the spaceship one.
While riding the space theme: "Aliens Director extended cut" and "Event Horizon extended cut" .....if you can find it....it's far far more grusome and frightening than the theatrical release. Sadly the original film got destroyed in a fire so no digital remaster is possible.
When it comes to Aliens; you will know when you are watching the correct cut since it starts with how the colonists come across the spawning ground. It starts with Newt and her parents.
I really like it, probably the 2nd or 3rd time I've watched it, I love the cinematography.Nice, so what are your thoughts about this movie?
I really like it, probably the 2nd or 3rd time I've watched it, I love the cinematography, and how shows how things were back then. I've always had the opinion that society peaked in the 50"s and its been downhill ever since.
Nice, I have only seen it once, but I do hope to see it again one day to see how much I still like it.I really like it, probably the 2nd or 3rd time I've watched it, I love the cinematography.
Of course, advancements in technology , autos, internet, health care, etc all make life easier now but that doesn't mean society is better. Gun violence, wars, bullying, mental health, crime are terrible now. Back then you let your kids outside all day, they could go anywhere, you didn't have to lock your doors, you talked to your neighbours, life was simpler, enjoyable, and no one thought they had to work 60 hours a week to buy stuff they don't need. I'll take the 50'over what we have now any day.@Digmor Crusher That was before my time, but I do agree that some things have definitely gotten worse & I miss the old days overall.
Some things have improved, of course, but not some of the things that matter more have not.
not sure I would go that far... but just watched "Vertigo" (1958)(Hitchcock) I saw this in theater with my dad when it was originally released -- gave me a very "creepy" or unsettled feeling, saw it again many years later, same feeling, watched it a week ago, gave me the same "unsettled" feeling. It is considered a classic. In some sense the story makes little sense in today's culture, but watching it puts me in the film...I'll take the 50'over what we have now any day.
This looks really cool! Going to add it to my list.Fantastic Fungi -- warning -- may change what you think about life, consciousness... & mushrooms! saw interview on Mayim Bialik Breakdown with Paul Stamets.
