Fleabag – Season 2 Review:
My Thoughts
This TV show is still not known or talked about enough, even though it and Phoebe Waller-Bridge have won awards.
Even though I believe that, it’s a comedy-drama.
I think it will connect with a larger audience if more people were to know about it. More people need to watch it.
Though they probably should censor it a bit so that a larger audience can enjoy it.
None of the YouTube channels that I am subscribed to ever mentioned this show during its run.
I only learned about it earlier last year when I saw the thumbnail for season 1.
On an online video streaming website, which was this image:
Fleabag Main:
The thumbnail caught my attention, so I looked up a trailer, I was not sure if I would like it.
I decided to watch the first episode. To my surprise, I liked it. I enjoyed the comedy style, except for it being a bit too risque.
Phoebe Waller-Bridge and her character
Fleabag in season 1 was a breath of fresh air.
It was a creative and quirky style of comedy-drama that I could relate to. I enjoyed it, except for the risque parts.
Fleabag the character and the show delves into the mind of the main character.
Most shows and movies do not achieve this. It lets you see rarely explored perspectives of a character.
I found it more relatable. It gave a more accurate representation of the flow of thoughts. It also creatively represented emotions.
I enjoy narration and internal dialogue. I like getting to see inside the minds, motivations, and beliefs of characters.
Likewise, I was not sure what to expect with season two. I feared that I would not like it as much as the first season.
The first episode started in a somewhat dry and boring British way. This had me worried.
However, things escalated quickly and beyond what I had expected.
Episode 2 started to feel more like what I expect of this show. Episode 3 returned to my expectations as well.
It was nice to see the season improving with each episode.
Episode 4 had me wondering what would happen next. Like this season, it took risks and added new bits of creativity.
It was even better than episode 3.
It went in some directions that I did not expect.
It provided a deeper and realistic exploration of some characters like Fleabag herself. Nonetheless, the ending was risque.
Episode 5 was not as good as episode 4. They went in a direction at the end that I did not like. I had hoped they would avoid it.
In episode 6, it made sense why they went in that direction.
They ended in a better, more realistic, relatable, and emotional way than I had expected.
This is a comedy-drama that is more risque than I like. Still, it still explores relationships and life in a deeper way.
It portrays them more realistically and more relatable than most TV shows and movies.
Phoebe Waller-Bridge is amazing in this role. She has a fun creative personality. I hope to see her career grow.
