@goodjohnjr I made it up to episode 3 of the first season of Motherland: Fort Salem and that’s where it started to feel uphill for me. I agree a lot with what you said: the show doesn’t really stay focused on its main theme (witches and their military mission) and instead drifts into side plots that, at least for me, make it less appealing.Maybe I’m still “under the spell” 🧙‍♀️ of other witches that feel more convincing, like Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches or American Horror Story: Coven by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. That’s why I’m going to pause Motherland for now and focus on 12 Monkeys ⏳ by Terry Matalas and Travis Fickett. So far I’m at episode 3 of the first season, and I find the way they handle time travel and the tension between science and destiny pretty interesting. I know there are 4 seasons in total, so only when I finish the whole run will I be able to give a better evaluation of whether I truly liked it or not.Still, I appreciate your recommendation because the concept of Motherland does have potential, even if the execution didn’t fully hook me. Maybe I’ll get back to it later. 😉

I do not blame you.

I have not seen Mayfair Witches, but I have seen all but one season of American Horror Story.

I saw most of the 12 Monkeys movie, I need to go back, and make sure that I saw the whole thing.

But I have not seen the TV show.

Good luck with the 12 Monkeys TV show.

What Is It?

The 2025 American erotic psychological thriller movie The Housemaid.

The Housemaid (2025) Official Trailer – Sydney Sweeney, Amanda Seyfried, Brandon Sklenar:

THE HOUSEMAID – Movie Review:

My Thoughts

I saw the trailer for this movie at the end of 2025.

To my surprise, my sister-in-law KC wanted to see it.

So I went to the city of LC with her, my brother KDC, and my brother CC.

To see it a week or two ago.

This might be the first movie that I have seen with Sydney Sweeney.

It was good to see Amanda Seyfried in a movie again, she did a good job.

This movie was a bit longer than I expected, and I wondered how it was going to continue that long.

The movie had a twist that I was not quite expecting.

I liked this movie slightly better than the others did.

They did not like it.

I felt that it was average, perhaps a 3 – 3.5 out of 5.

Watched the first three Underworld Films today which were free to catchup. They were okay, I enjoyed them enough to see them through Currently giving The Originals tv series a bit of a go. One of the two spin offs of The Vampire Diaries but I don't want as much of the teen stuff so thought I'd just see about the originals which is okay so far.

The Underworld films, like the Blade films, is a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine.

I saw all the Underworld movies in a movie theater / cinema.

I have not seen The Vampire Diaries or The Originals, but my brother GC has.

I did see the both versions of the TV show Being Human, the British version, and the American / Canadian version.

I’m almost done with season one of 12 Monkeys and it’s hooked me quite a bit 😏. The time machine and the tech aren’t the most convincing, but honestly that fades into the background—the plot holds up thanks to the dilemmas and twists, which are well executed.

As for Underworld, I liked the first movie more than the rest, though still less than Blade 🗡️. Maybe because after being “bitten” by Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice (the movie, not the series—I only managed a couple of episodes before losing interest), I expected the fangs to leave a deeper mark 🧛. In the end, it felt like it didn’t have enough elements to fully sink its teeth into me… but it’s still watchable.

And since it came up, with Being Human I’ll take the British version 🇬🇧—the atmosphere and characters felt more solid to me.

Cool. The Originals is okay though backstory could be better but a few episodes in, we'll see how it goes. Being Human any good?

Cool. Being Human is on my BBC watchlist to check out.

That is a bizarre movie. After I got done I thought, what did I just watch and see? 🤔
Haven’t watched it (just skimmed a review), and I’m not sure the theme would really hook me 🤨. Right now I’m fully absorbed in 🐒 12 Monkeys, which has me tangled in its time‑travel madness. Maybe at some point I’ll give this one a shot… though I suspect I’d end up with the same ‘what did I just watch?’ face as you 😅

I just finished the first season of 12 Monkeys 🐒 and I really enjoyed how each action opens the possibility of new realities. It’s like tossing a coin 🪙: while it’s spinning in the air, all outcomes exist at once, and only when it lands does one become real. The show plays with that idea in a very engaging way.

Now it’s time to “splinter” ⚡ into season two… like throwing another coin into the wind, not knowing if it will land heads, tails, or in a parallel universe where the coin never stops spinning 🌌.

Hello @ErzCrz, my brother GC and I liked the original British version of Being Human better, I also recommend watching the pilot episode of the British one.

After the pilot episode, they changed some of the main cast.

There are some things that we liked about the North American version as well like: Kristen Hager as Nora Sergeant, Deena Aziz as "Mother", et cetera.

I also like the first Underworld the best, and the first Blade the best.

I saw some of Interview With The Vampire, but not all of it; I need to see all of that one day.

My brother GC and I also liked the original British version of Being Human.

Did you ever see the pilot episode for it, with a slightly different main cast?

If not, check it out.
