As someone interested in the UAP / UFO / Non-Human / Semi-Human / Alien / et cetera phenomenon, I was very disappointed in Disclosure Day, and so was my brother GC.

But at least a few people like yourself enjoyed it, so that is good.

His TV show Taken was better, except it got worse and further away from the usual lore as it went on.

I also felt that Disclosure Day promised more than it ultimately delivered.

The themes it introduced — abductions, government conspiracies, and advanced technology — were very intriguing, but I felt they weren’t explored as deeply as I expected. Perhaps a series format would have allowed more time to develop some of those ideas, especially the non-human entities and the technology behind them.

My impression was that the film was designed for each viewer to fill in the gaps and build their own interpretation. In my case, I saw the main characters almost as an “Adam and Eve” concept, genetically engineered for a new stage in human evolution.

The only part that slightly broke the atmosphere for me was the final few minutes, that Spielberg-style E.T. moment. I agree with @Jonny Quest that those minutes could have been left out; after all the tension and mystery the movie had built up, I felt the ending shifted the overall tone a little.

I’ll have to rewatch Taken, since I don’t remember all the details anymore, and that way I can better appreciate the comparison you mentioned.

Still, I enjoyed the experience overall. 🌌👽

My Thoughts​

The thumbnail for this video is unfortunate, and a poor choice.

There are much better thumbnails they could have come up with that would better represent this short film.

And make more people want to watch it.

But the short film itself is better than two big budget movies that I saw in movie theaters this year.

It is scary and amazing how much AI (artificial intelligence) has improved in less than 3 years.

For it to be able to create a short film this good already, with prompting from a human of course.

It is also amazing that this is open source.

Yeah the problem is they the actors are late 70's early 80's now. Goodfellas is 40 years ago and time has passed them by. Age has not done them well or passed by nicely.

Watching De Niro stomp on that guy looked horrible, like a geriatric kicking a golf ball. Really fake.

Peak Gangsta movie is gone. Now you have anti-heroes like Walter White and not much else except for the Marvel cookie cutter crap. Star Wars is basically on life support.

My Thoughts​

When I first heard about this upcoming Ghost In The Shell anime TV show, The Ghost In The Shell Season 1.

I was concerned and I lowered my expectations.

Especially after seeing some early images, trailer, et cetera.

Ghost In The Shell Stand Alone Complex, especially Ghost In The Shell Stand Alone Complex 2nd Gig.

It is one of my favorite anime TV shows of all time.

So I did not want them to ruin this franchise further like the previous failed attempt at a new anime TV show for it.

This anime TV show is like Ghost In The Shell for a new generation.

Fortunately, it is not bad, and it is better than I had expected.

It still does not surpass Ghost In The Shell Stand Alone Complex Season 1 and Ghost In The Shell Stand Alone Complex 2nd Gig.

But I did not hate the animation as much as I had expected.

Yes, I do not like the more cartoony style for some characters, et cetera.

But overall it was not enough to make me hate the animation.

Some of the animation is good in its own way.

I am not a fan of the more goofy, comedic, unprofessional, et cetera style of this show.

But fortunately there was still just enough to of the opposite to balance it out a bit.

I still prefer the more serious and professional tone / style of the first two seasons of Ghost In The Shell Stand Alone Complex.

Public Security Section 9 were less competent in this show at first.

Fortunately, they became more competent as the show went on.

They still would get destroyed by Section 9 from the first two seasons of Ghost In The Shell Stand Alone Complex.

I went into this like an old man ready to complain and compare it to what came before and not like it.

But there was still some sense of nostalgia with the opening and closing credits and music.

As well as with some of the animation, scenes, dialogue, et cetera.

There was still just enough of the original show to not completely alienate a fan of the original show like myself.

A few moments in this brought me back to the mid-2000s.

One thing that this show and the original show did that was amazing.

Was that somehow they both can fit an entire episode in a short time frame that feels more like a short film.

By somehow efficiently using time in a way that most shows fail to achieve.

I am not sure how they do it.

One complaint I have to this, though, is that the political stuff can go over your head.

Because it is usually not explained well and is rush and missing things leaving you confused.

Unless you know more about Japanese politics, the lore, et cetera.

Another complaint is that the last episode was weak in my opinion.

Also this show could have done without the fan service.

I would recommend watching this show for a new twist to the Ghost In The Shell anime franchise.

While the original anime TV show is better, in my opinion, it is interesting seeing a new spin on it.

That is not terrible like the piece of trash Netflix version called Ghost In The Shell: SAC_2045.

I would rate it a 3.5 – 4 out of 5.

I wish that there were more episodes.

Because they're all on BBC iPlayer, I watch the first Tobey Maguire Spiderman weekend before last then Spiderman 2 and 3 and then The Amazing Spiderman (Andrew Garfield) at the weekend and now onto The Amazing Spiderman 2 in parts when I can during a busy week.. I'd only seen the first three in the past so enjoying the journey :) I am more of a DC fan but I like both.
