Question What password manager do you all use?

Please provide comments and solutions that are helpful to the author of this topic.
F-Secure Password

Good as any - But I usually use 'Rumpelstiltskin' as my main password because no one will think of that :)
That's the password generator I use, it's one of my Brave home page links. Even though I use Proton Pass, I find that one easier to see and use when creating a new login, then copy and paste it into the Proton new website form field.

I believe there is no cloud-based third-party password manager that allows TOTP code generation for free (or free, unlimited). KeePassXC (and possibly KeePassDX) are "offline" password managers that have a TOTP code generator.
I use the free Bitwarden on my desktop and fill in the TOTP code field and then import the TOTP into Bitwarden Authenticator for iOS, which works flawlessly for free. 😁

Bitwarden Authenticator for iOS😁
That's still a separate authenticator app, though. If you already have TOTP secrets stored with the passwords, it’s often suggested to just pay their premium ($10/year) and use the code generator integrated with the password manager since it’s more convenient not having to use a separate authenticator app. You can then use the now syncable authenticator (with the password manager) as a backup.

If using a separate authenticator app is your thing, some people consider not storing the TOTP secrets with the passwords to be safer—it's an all eggs in one basket kind of argument.

I use Ente Auth as my main TOTP authenticator, but since MT members recommend using a backup for everything important, I used Bitwarden Authentecator as a backup as well.

I use Bitwarden and Aegis for 2FA. I would like to try Proton Pass too as a backup.

I would not feel comfortable using PM for both, passwords and 2FA. I use Bitwarden and a double encrypted excel for core passwords.
As for 2FA, I use Microsoft Authenticator (Online) on android and 2fast – Two Factor Authenticator (Offline) on desktop as a backup.
How to double encrypt Excel sheet as I have saved usernames/passwords in it too?

The simplest thing to do is to put everything in Bitwarden because it syncs without "additional" work.

A more complicated approach is to store what you need synced in Bitwarden, while keeping what you don't need synced in KeePassXC (which you use on "one" machine).

Still using password protected zip/rar/whatever using .txt - Worked for many years & its reliant on no one or no other additional program, easy to add to a USB etc, does require a little effort but that’s fine
