Advice Request What security solution do MT users use?

Please provide comments and solutions that are helpful to the author of this topic.
I believe I'm in paranoid mode. :eek:

After recent changes, I'm using the following:

DNS: ControlD
Resident Protection: Norton 360 Premium + Simple Windows Hardening + Spyshelter Firewall + VoodooShiled + OSArmor
Password Manager: 1Password
Browser: Edge + uBlock Origin
Backup: Files (Backblaze + iDrive, which I'll probably cancel); System Imaging (both AOMEI Backupper + Macrium Reflet in their paid versions). Hoping to have enough redundancy in case one option fails.

Strangely enough, everything is running right and light on my system.

Microsoft Defender enhanced with Hard_Configurator + OSArmor . Lightweight and stable combination that should protect against the majority of threats I might come across as a typical home user. This setup is probably overkill, but for me is simply fun or kind of a hobby. It is safe and it is okay because I like it ;)

Edge set to strict with AdGuard extension run in Sanboxie Plus
CCleaner + Privzer
Marcrium Reflect Free
Microsoft Defender as is
Firewall Application Blocker run in white list mode

Even if everything seems to be running fine, it's still not helpful to use multiple security solutions that are overlapping. Norton 360 Premium + Simple Windows Hardening and you are good to go.

The author obviously just dislike UAC and trying to find a valid reason to disable, but that’s rather just laziness…
Everyone should keep default settings of UAC at least instead to fully disable 😉

I'm not a fan of UAC & have spend a long time without it, I have never had malware in over 25 years, it's on at the moment but from my experience people tent to click OK anyway regardless as after a certain amount of time it becomes automatic - It's on at the moment but I don't consider it essential, though most of the forum will disagree, if UAC were that good there would be little need for anything else - Just my opinion !

On UAC:
Gebert's straightforward mitigation advice to prevent UAC bypass attacks is setting UAC to "Always Notify." Doing so will always show the user UAC prompts before high-risk applications are executed.
