My German brother came to visit us yesterday, so dinner was a barbecue feast.
what are those 2 plates of white things?
One is "Hummus with tahini" and it is a dip made from blended chickpeas, tahini (a paste made from sesame seeds), garlic, olive oil, and lemon juice, and the other is "Baba ghanoush" is a similar dip made from roasted eggplant, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, and olive oil.
We have hummus at our super bulk shop store Costco too. I thought it was a spread for bread, so you say it is a dip for meat too,
We usually eat it with bread for breakfast, but this new trend started by meat restaurants has led to it being used as a dip as well.
