Thanks for sharing @Umbra
Symantec arent known to be very heavy? Reason in Malaysia Symantec is loosing market share is because of support. Sophos no idea; hasnt' gotten in touch with them yet.
wow, after so many years that Symantec resolved the heavy resource usage I don not know why people still argue about this!!!

cloud based are for special environments and are not that much reliable, the best method( at least in this time) is the hybrid approach, offline and cloud together.

The whole antivirus market is completely different when it comes to home use and business use. As most companies I've encountered use Symantec Endpoint Protection because it's simple to use while having all the updates deployed across the network easy. The Malware Hub will mostly show tests for home use as it's easier to get that setup that way and most home users always would like to know what the best AV is.

Also comes down to what the business does and what they are trying to protect, i.e you're going to have heavy security settings on a school for example so the students do bring or browse anything bad and you want to make sure that the security side of the it infrustrucre is secure. If you were just a small business for example a business that sells Apples, you're not going to have as much security as the high end businesses.

Comes down what the business is trying to protect to what antivirus they are wanting to use.

i tried finding test info on symantec endpoint protection before but didn't have too much luck
some tests i found were old and using old version of SEP (12.x) but i think latest SEP was 14.x at the time
reading the posts from others in this thread, if those people think SEP is good protection then maybe it is good
