Zemana is not open about what engine(s) they use. Is it possible they use their own engine? Also, has anyone got an idea of what engine(s) they are using? What makes you think they are using that engine?

Have an up-to-date source?

During the beta/stable they switched from 11 to 6, re-wrote their engine so it's possibly it's completely different now. I don't know if @TwinHeadedEagle would be able to provide details.

i bought a license in early January and i really liked it butttttt ...... no automatic update just automatic notification that a new version is out ......and to be honest this is not a good thing for those who know crap about updates and stuff ....they may be stuck up to genesis .... secondly the huge amount of ram in idle mode naaaaaaah ...i still have it but they need to polish a little more their fine product.....
Antilogger is another story i guess

Yes, that would nice to have, but if you take a look at any major security program, they don't have instant automatic update. It can take weeks or months after release for program to notify you that there is a new version available. It is the case with Eset or MalwareBytes for example. However we have major and minor updates in Zemana and any major update is automatically installed for all customers.

What is important is that any new malware detection is instantly available to amy customer in the world as soon as it is created. Some security products accumulate signatures and update them in 6 hours interval. Zemana has an instant database and you are not required to have updates for malware protection.

Hope that clears thing out :)

This is strange , after i saw this discuss , i am also curious what engines use by Zemana ?

So i write the email to official ,
and ask them could you please give a list for what engines use by Zemana ?

And here is the reply :
We have activated our own technology and AV engines which are provided by our partners are used for classification and clustering purposes in the cloud but they are removed from the UI. I can assure you that our detection rate is one of the best in the market.

So seems Zemana still don't talk about what engines they use
Still Top secret ~ :D

However , Zemana works great on my PC ,
and did a very good job when i am help for my friend's infected system .

==================

By the way , I just saw a message from other forum ,
there is a new product coming from Zemana ,
call " Zemana Antimalware Ultimate " .

for more information , you can visit the official website :

they don't disclose what engines they are using. I don't understand the reason behind

what we know:
- It has the license for metascan 16 and zemana uses the best 5 engines out of 16 engines, to reduce false positive rate
- they use their own engine too. I have seen files uploaded to virustotal - 0/61 by me but were detected by ZAM as PUPs/adwares
- this is the screenshot of the older version of zemana when we were still able to choose which engines to use. Things can change now

this is the screenshot of metascan 16 engines

I don't understand , too . :(
maybe because trade secrets ? o_O

Thanks for your screenshot , i start to use Zemana less than a month ,
And i never see those option before , so that is why Zemana official tell me they removed from UI setting .

Actually i quite like ESET、Bitdefender、Kaspersky engines , those engines had very few false alerts :) ,
Hope Zemana had use those engines inside

uh , anyway , Zemana do not want us to know ,
We can keep guess , but i think until official public statement , there will be no result .

For now , i am more interesting to know what extra Ultimate will have. :D
