VLC has always offered me the highest quantity of options when playing a video, so that's what i've always used. I even installed it on Linux reciently to replace default's.
I use VLC because it plays bunch of formats and I don't need to install codecs.
I use Pot Player because it give timely updates and patches and working very well every playable formats.

Hello I voted other, because I use several: WMP(with K-Lite Mega Codec Pack+WMP Tag Plus), AIMP, Foobar,JetAudio VX Plus and VLC 64 Bit

Considering, that MPC-HC almost died, this is a solid replacement.

just started to use zoom player , because potplayer started too get more sluggish. I am quite pleased with it!

I use SPlayer. In the past I used SMPlayer, but it had issues with some videos.
Well, I used to use AIMP, but switched to MPC HC.
Should I now switch to MPC BE?
Is the beta edition good?
I use the Media Player Classic. Had some lags with some videos @ VLC Player

i just tried out mpc-be. i did not like it. it is nothing like mpc-hc.
the latest version of vlc 2.2.6 / umbrella gets flagged on VT even after over 3 months of release.
