I just get spam emails in the spam folder in one of my Gmail accounts. In the second Gmail account, I have zero spam!
It doesn't matter but I do check spam folder because sometimes you get valid emails end up in the spam email, even though I have added the sender into the Gmail contacts.
I use Outlook on my home device, with a Safe senders list. If the sender isn't on the list, it ends up in the junk folder. Very simple and effective. Of course I also check the junk folder occasionally and add safe recipients or even domains to it when needed.

Besides, I think ultimately what's even more important than the filtering of messages is to never click on email links, and be ultra careful with attachments.

Because I am worried about where my address might leak from, I use a spam-only address for things like registering for online services. In other words, the address itself has become an anti-spam folder. When I check it once in a while, it is full of ads and spam, as it should be.
I mainly use g-mail, but this one sometimes gets treated as spam, even the ones I need. I used to have MT's 2FA notifications sorted into spam.o_O

You mean Outlook 365 for Windows?

Office Professional Plus 2019. I get a deal on these through my employer.

Update: I noticed that the email address I have that I get spam, someone has the same username for his Twitter. Is that the reason I get spam?

These people actually send spams to all those addresses that resembles the addresses that they already have.
Like if they have in their list user @ gmail.com, then they will also send to user @ yahoo, user @ outlook and the like. Also to users @ gmail, userz @ gmail and so on.
So, even if someone doesn't use their email much they can still get lot of spams.

Enter your email address at have I been pwned, and it will show if it's been in any data breaches.
If it has, the spammers are able to get your email address from these breaches. In addition to that, if you've ever posted your email address somewhere it is visible to anyone on the internet, spammers can get your email from that too. There are bots which scan the web collecting email addresses.

When I set up my own private email the amount of spam I received dropped from daily to zero. Free email providers sell your address and then pretend to fight spam. Pay for your own private email address and watch it all suddenly disappear.
