I use Outlook on my home device, with a Safe senders list. If the sender isn't on the list, it ends up in the junk folder. Very simple and effective. Of course I also check the junk folder occasionally and add safe recipients or even domains to it when needed.I just get spam emails in the spam folder in one of my Gmail accounts. In the second Gmail account, I have zero spam!
It doesn't matter but I do check spam folder because sometimes you get valid emails end up in the spam email, even though I have added the sender into the Gmail contacts.
Besides, I think ultimately what's even more important than the filtering of messages is to never click on email links, and be ultra careful with attachments.
