Microsoft says Windows 10, version 22H2 will be the last feature update to be released for the Windows 10 operating system.

Windows 10 22H2 reached general availability in October 2022 and entered broad deployment on November 18, 2022.

All editions of Windows 10 22H2 (Home, Pro, Enterprise, Education, Pro Education, Pro for Workstations, and IoT Enterprise editions) will reach their end of servicing in October 2025.

"The current version, 22H2, will be the final version of Windows 10, and all editions will remain in support with monthly security update releases though that date," said Jason Leznek, Principal Product Manager for Windows Servicing and Delivery.

"We highly encourage you to transition to Windows 11 now as there won't be any additional Windows 10 feature updates."

Well Microsoft has made it official, 22H2 will be the last feature release for Windows 10.

This is a good thing. 10 is now entering into the “most stable” version mode of it’s lifecycle.

I miss the Windows XP/7 era. We are moving all POS to Android fast. So 21h2 will be for old cpu if you do not reinstall windows 10.

When Microsoft revealed that the current Windows 10 version would be the last, it was not clear if Windows 10 would still get smaller feature updates or if Microsoft would limit updates to security and bug fix updates.

Microsoft pushed a new update to the release preview development version of Windows 10 this week. This update included two new, but minor, feature changes. In pushing the update, Microsoft confirmed that Windows 10 may also get new features in the future.

While there won't be a new feature update for Windows 10 released later this year, or in the 29 months of support the operating system has left, new features and improvements may be included in the cumulative updates that Microsoft releases for Windows 10 on the second Tuesday of each month.
