Microsoft has released Patch Tuesday updates for Windows 11 24H2, 23H2, and 22H2. The 24H2 update is provided via KB5051987, while the 23H2 and 22H2 updates are delivered via KB5051989. You will be on build versions 26100.3194, 22631.4890, and 22621.4890, respectively, after applying the update.

Just got this after update and restart... Never change Microsoft, never change...

This is simply another sneaky way MS tries to get you to opt-in to optional diagnostics. Personalization = more tracking needed.

The update (KB5051987) could not be installed on one of my 3 computers. The update ran to 100% and then I got a message saying that an error had occurred. I should repeat the update. I repeated it several times without any positive results. Then I performed an in-place repair update via Windows Update. Now Windows 11 is up to date. This is the second time this has happened.

Wow...I did the update too but have not seen that offer window or whatever it is called. Did it just show up on your desktop after a normal start? It seems like even more aggressive invasive MS tactics to me.

I also did not get that pop-up from Windows after the update. Maybe it depends on where someone lives? (Although I doubt it.)

Same problem here, unfortunately an in-place repair introduced new problems. I am going to do a clean install today.

Yes. I typed my password and this is the screen that welcomed me.

I appreciate them being honest though. They admitted combining data they get through their products.

While Windows will give them all information about your PC, your personal data they'll get through Microsoft account. Windows Defender is here to inform them about the stuff you have on your PC; Edge and Smartscreen's purpose is to collect full URLs of websites you visit (meaning URLs to your social media profiles too).

Yeah, this is the reason why I tend to use only necessary Microsoft products, and nothing more. I really do trust Google more with my data than Microsoft.

I used to have issues with audio randomly crashing. I read somewhere that the issue is finally solved, updated the Realtek drivers and everything works fine so far. It didn't took Microsoft long to acknowledge the issue though; just 6 months.

EDIT: The issue still isn't fixed so I reverted the drivers again to the previous version. Again. 😐

I accidentally open the notification center and there it is...

Of course Microsoft added a new "Suggested" and enabled it automatically to show you "suggestions". Once I set it to "off" it deleted the notification.

Let this be your "check your settings" reminder. I am 🤏🏻 close to reinstalling Windows, but this time I will be installing Enterprise LTSC. I'm so tired of Microsoft's bullshit.

I am tired of it too. I got something similar last night when I opened Edge. I don't think MS respects our settings, no matter which way we might have it set up.

Oh... you need to pay for Windows? 😯

Jokes aside, the only reason why Microsoft still has a price tag on Windows is because of businesses. If they made it free, they couldn't sell it to them and OEMs. This is why they couldn't care less if you used MAS for activation or bought the key on shady sites. They aren't really expecting you, the home user, to buy Windows. Beside, they still earn money on us though sponsored apps, ads and data collection.
