I have had a strange bug minutes ago.
My PC monitor is set to turn off after 15 min of inactivity of save power.
After being turned off, I have moved the mouse; it has been turned on with everything in violet color instead of grey (W settings, browser, MS office).
I could not find anything new in W settings to revert, so I restarted the PC, everything back to grey (fixed).

Restarts often resolve these little glitches.

Or if the issue persists, reinstalling graphics driver.

Very much so, how many times have you thought due to paranoia 'Have I been pwned? Am I infected?' only to realize it's just MS usual shenanigans!

This update has failed for me for two months now.

I already abandoned W10 to give way for W11 last October
But the updates of W11 fail from time to time especially after optimizing and turning off some unnecessary services.

End result, I reverted back some machines to W10 with ESU enabled. No issues.
