Hello everyone, I'm using ESET NOD32 & want to use Windows defender side by side but Windows security panel showing that no action needed as ESET security installed. But I want to know are there any tricks to use Windows Defender antivirus side by side for enhanced protection? How do I make Windows Defender work better to protect my computer like advance configure? By the way, I'm also using H_C Configurator @Andy Ful.

One off-topic:-

I'm using Vivaldi desktop browser. Microsoft EDGE is default browser & Firefox is secondary. Vivaldi desktop is very nice but often crashed. Are there any tricks to optimize its performance? I'm using Ghostery, Privacy Badger, Osprey browser protection & UBO Lite.

Please give your valuable advice. Thanks.

Have you had issues or problems as to why you wish to run two systems? In my view its 'similar' in real life two people trying to do the same job at the same time at the same place which is a recipe for chaos? In the past I've run for example Hit-Man Pro etc in real time for extended periods of time & I have to say not once did it do anything useful & did cause issues with the main AV - Harden your system yes, but most AV's I feel do the job well now, 20 years or more ago things were different but again I feel its no longer needed with hardening & extensions & backgrounds such as Smart Screen - I'm sure others may well feel differently

That is the dumbest idea in the world! They're both superb in terms of protection, why in the world would you want to AVs running in tandem and scanning the files at the same time causing issues and major slowdown!??!?? You are just asking for trouble!

If you want to strengthen your AV software, you could try a product like Voodooshield or OS Armour. Both of these are designed to run alongside an AV.
While they are not anti-virus applications, they can prevent unwanted scripts/software from running if they evade Windows Defender or NOD32.

Having two AV applications running at the same time is generally considered a bad idea. I've never tried it myself, but I understand it can cause slowdowns and make Windows unstable. So choose either Defender or NOD32, but not both! They are not designed to work together.

I want to echo what others have said about the redundancy in your setup,it can sometimes create conflicts that leave you more exposed. To better understand your needs, could you share a bit more about your recent security history? For example, when was the last time you had an infection? This will help us figure out if this level of configuration is truly necessary for your situation.

Last month When I was run a full scan using ESET I found 5 pieces of Malware & 1 detected by Defender & another one by KVRT.

It's highly likely that the your online habits and the potential for a weakened defense due to conflicting software/extensions played a role in the infections. The browser extensions, in particular, could have slowed down the browser's ability to process and block malicious scripts, or a conflict between them may have created a "gap" that malware exploited. Security is not just about having the most tools, but about having a robust, well-configured, and non-conflicting set of tools, coupled with safe Browse habits.
