why in the world would you want to AVs running in tandem and scanning the files at the same time causing issues and major slowdown

as far as I know, 2 AVs that do (can) run real-time with MS Defender are Malwarebytes and DeepInstinct.

and K; to use MD just disable K autostart and exit; to use K just launch and MD will turn off automatically.

You can exit K. from the menu in Windows taskbar K icon... also there is an option to disable K. start in every system boot.

Yes, Just launch K from start menu.

Pause protection disables realtime protection, but K processes will keep running; exit is more safe to avoid conflict with any other AV.
