No comment regarding your Antivirus software, more interested in.. What made you choose Adobe Reader XI over other PDF viewers? And how has Soluto helped you?

I tried Foxit reader, but it was so slow especially when the pdf file has images
For adobe, it was faster and has more features.

Soluto is a great startup manager!
It helped me cutoff time in my system startup from 5 to 2 minutes.
Soluto shows a timer on the lower-left of the desktop.

It works by removing unnecessary apps based on community views, and delaying other apps (IMs, download managers) so that the ones with a larger priority (AVs, drivers, utilities) can startup faster. Once all of the top priority apps load, it then loads the delayed apps.

Have you compared Adobe Reader to Chrome or (Windows) Reader? What's your verdict on what's better? Thanks. :D

I have used Soluto in the past, but unfortunately I wasn't too fond of the software.

No, I haven't.
I thought Chrome Reader is for RSS feeds? And there's a pdf reader on Windows, or I need to download it?

Anyways, if there is a pdf reader that is lighter and faster than Adobe but has most of its features, I would be interested.

Not sure about what "features" you're referring too, but here are the ones from the Windows Store:

Adobe Reader Touch
http://apps.microsoft.com/windows/en-gb/app/adobe-reader-touch/162a2931-8ee6-4a56-9570-53282525d7a3

Reader (came with Windows 8)
http://apps.microsoft.com/windows/en-us/app/reader/8a4ae377-a4ab-4260-9b80-f9382360e291

And here's info about Chrome's built-in PDF viewer:
https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/1060734?hl=en

Check that's it's enabled in Plugins (chrome://plugins), it's DLL should be located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\~[Version Number]~\pdf.dll

Oh, I realized you mean the default Windows 8 Metro reader...
um, since I'm a college student, it would mean tons of research including reports from pdf files. It would be kind of frustrating to copy-paste sentences back and forth from metro to desktop.

Oh thanks, i didn't know you could open pdf file via Chrome's pdf reader.
I thought it was only for pdf files you open from the internet.

Chrome is probably among the first browser to implemented built in Flash player and PDF reader. ;)

You may try CutePDF for converting files to PDF, handy and less complications.

*Edited config:
ADDED - Hosts File Editor/Sources: Hostsman (MVPS | hpHosts Ad & tracking servers | Peter Lowe's Adservers List | Malware Domain List | DNS-BH – Malware Domain Blocklist)

I would like to thank Overkill with his amazing config for me to try Hostsman. :D

*Edited config:
UNINSTALLED: Scriptsafe from Google Chrome.

I figured out its better to uninstall it since the sites that Hostsman block via Hosts file is the same as Scriptsafe.
And that is a little annoying to whitelist every new site you visit.

RE: XVSkulblaka7's Config [05.28.2013]

*INSTALLED: Peerblock - Spyware and Adware Filter | HTTP Block

I have a question.
Is my current protection TOO much?

Norton 360 - filters out bad websites and has a firewall
Hostsman - filters out bad websites, trackers, and ads.
Peerblock - filters out bad websites, trackers, and ads and ACTS like a firewall.

I hope I'm not slowing down my system because of this...
Please see my config on top for more info.

You will use PeerBlock if dealing more on Peer to Peer or torrents sites but Norton 360 and Hostman are fine already as long your actions are not misguided.

So if I use P2P software I should have PeerBlock to be safe?

Yes, you have the ability to lock down known IP malicious viruses.

*UPDATED:
Hostman - From hpHosts (ad and tracker ONLY) to hpHosts (Full and Partial)
UAC - From HIGH to Default - it's just a little annoying when set to high.

*DISABLED:
DNS Cache Client - this is the advice many forums has given since my HOSTS file is so big. 4.97MB with 244,488 blocked hostnames.

RE: XVSkulblaka7's Config [05.28.2013]

I have a question...
Is there any anti-keylogger software that fully encrypts keystrokes for Windows 8 64 bit?

I tried Zemana Free, but somehow Webroot SA is conflicting, and I heard Keyscrambler Premium is good, but it's app-specific.
I would like something that protects the whole system.
