I have problems with ZoneAlarm NextGen, the computer does not turn off anymore... Forced to shut down. Well, so I had an Eset license lying around, I uninstalled ZANG and installed Eset Smart Security, everything works fine now. Too bad!
This is not good news. But I read elsewhere that ZA can be buggy.

similar issues here with ZA, though I do have checkpoint harmony and it just works great, :D so I would expect the same from ZA... :(

I tested ZoneAlarm for 2 days now and must say that I'm still facing the same stability issues as a couple months back. Programs don't start or have a 10 second delay, System feels much slower in general as ZA is utilizing 10% of the CPU while I'm doing absolutely nothing. I also faced multiple blue screens after restarting my PC when ZA was installed. ZoneAlarm has great features and a really good protection, but I don't know why they are failing so hard to make the AV more stable and bug-free. Gonna stick with Deep Instinct... Stable, fast and good protection.
:(

That's why I use only their extension with threat emulation and not their full av rather a lighter one (ESET )

But checkpoint has fantastic results in tests so once that's solved I would probably move to zonealarm

I have DeepInstinct on my Host OS for 18+ mo, and Harmony on a VM Guest. Harmony is great but ZA buggy. Maybe checkpoint uses ZA as a beta

When using Zonealrm Extreme, I noticed the windows firewall was on and so was Zonealarm firewall...Both on. Is that OK?

ZoneAlarm with Windows 11 LTSC keeps giving BSOD
Reset my PC and TM installed. No more issues.
You can use only the extension with the emulation as well but for the API key for the threat emulation and extraction I would have to send it privately
(Send me a private message as your profile is limited )

I didn't have a bsod with zonealarm but had performance issues probably because it takes too much ram (should be fixed or is already fixed as trident said back then they were working on reducing ram usage , using more gpu acceleration etc )

Anyway I hope trend micro gets better results in independent tests but for now the best balance of false positives, performance , detection is with Kaspersky and eset as trend micro in tests has usually has all the above below the top avs
But I do hope they improve as I would really love to try trend micro and we really need more competition in the av sector

(Non lab tests like shadowra did here on the fourm did show it has pretty good results and even in lab tests it isn't far from the top so possible bright future if they can squeeze better results in lab tests )

I found that if I use this, and I talk e off all other security softwares, like Malwarebytes firewall control, and any other assisting programs. Zonealarm Next Gen Extreme runs very nice, very light, especially after a full scan and the 3rd day of use. Real smooth and very secure.

Is zone-alarm next gen becoming discontinued software, no updates since July 15?
Since there is a delay I would assume they are preparing a bug update and hopefully that would be true but we will have to wait and see
