What makes Ad Muncher the ultimate ad blocker?
  • Blocks ads in all browsers, including Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, Google Chrome, Safari, Flock, Netscape, Maxthon and Avant Browser.
  • Kills unwanted popups in all browsers.
  • Removes advertising in programs like Pando, SopCast, ICQ, Morpheus, Kazaa, PalTalk, iMesh, Bearshare, LimeWire, Yahoo! Music Jukebox, TVAnts and more.
  • Speeds up page loading and saves bandwidth, thanks to the missing ads and pop up windows.
  • Downloads in seconds, only 582 KB for the whole program.
  • Works immediately out of the box, thanks to the most extensive ad blocking list available.
  • Filters quickly and reliably, thanks to twelve years of constant development and feedback from users.
  • Protects your privacy by blocking common third-party tracking systems.
  • Blocks rich media advertising like video ads, interstitial ads and floating ads.
  • Blocks many spyware, adware and dialer installers.

For me there is no reason to install Ad Muncher or AdGuard. Because Adblock Plus still does the job for me.:)

Sticking with AdGuard, i see no point in going back to Admuncher its an inferior outdated product even their website needs updating as it does not block all ads and does not work in all browsers. Anyway no doubt jeff will appear on these forums and say they are working really hard on an update (its been nearly 5 years now) and that all the features people are waiting for will be released soon... Thats all he ever says though.

My personal recommendation is stay clear of admuncher, it was good back in the day but now its just outdated crapware.

Admuncher back in the day was a ROLLS ROYCE Phantom,
Sadly due to Neglect and a lot of rust its ready for the scrap yard,
Its not fit for purpose any more . It should have gone the way of the Dinosaurs.
from my perspective using Admuncher is like using Ewido Anti-Spyware today .
The illusions of protection and blocking ..

Old faithful? AM has been developed for 15 years.

I've used it. Still have it on at least on Windows machine. Own two licenses.

Why is it better than Ad Block?
Because it blocks ads regardless of the browser. It filters traffic before it gets to the browser so it works with all browsers, hence browser agnostic.

Lacking HTTPS is a good thing, why would you want to expose your encrypted connection to a third party plugin?
