New Update AdGuard for Windows - Stable Updates Thread

The new version 7.22 feels slower than the previous one in general browsing. Surprisingly Kaspersky stopped showing adguard as incompatible software notification with the new version.
I installed version 7.22 with my custom config and I must say the browserspeed is considerable slow from time to time. I trimmed down the filterlist and disabled some other setting but it had no possitve impact on the browserspeed.

I seriously think that AdGuard is not properly beta testing their releases these days. I am seeing so may hotfixes that could have been avoided if the beta testing phase was properly extended than what it is now. Bugs happen, and it's unavoidable, I know, but that's why betas exist. When I choose “stable” I expect to get a stable version, not an under cooked beta version and as a user I have supported AdGuard from 2017 onwards, I still hold 9 lifetime AdGuard licenses, but I am done with AdGuard for now. I only plan to return when uBlock Origin Mv2 dies.

I'm in the same position, using Brave with built adblocking & Firefox/Wolf with uBlock frankly all that AdGuard has done recently is cause problems, I'm sorry to say this. No doubt I'll try again the the future.

Yeah, it's not being good. In the slowness issue their developers was struggling to find a way to reproduce and find the cause. It was so bad that the AdGuard CTO had to step in to fix the issue and he was able to reproduce the bug within a day. He said that from what he saw it looked like their developers were not following the standard procedures on how to reproduce bugs and release new versions of the product. It was clear that he was very angry and gave them a beating in private.
They should focus on stability first and foremost. Also, version 8 should still be in nightly.

For the first time in many years I have uninstalled Adguard. It was blocking secure login in one of the pages I need for work and no amount of whitelisting or changing active lists would solve it. I had to shut it down completely, just making it inactive would still block the certification list window.

For now I'm using Brave while I check other solutions.

Nice to see im not alone, ditched adguard like few days ago because slowness on desktop and on android my mother would always turn it off and it could not turn back on somehow, they removed the watchdog of vpn so this must be reason why.

Anyways i probably go from brave ( that im using currently) to firefox + ublock origin on all devices including androids soon as fast i find new antivirus solution for me

In this hotfix, we’re automatically migrating all users from the outdated TDI driver to the more reliable WFP driver. This change comes as a solution to an issue reported by users, ensuring filtering works with the latest versions of Chrome-based browsers, which aren’t fully compatible with TDI.

TDI isn’t going away completely — you can still enable it if you want to. But if you do, the app will show you a clear warning explaining the potential issues and how to temporarily fix them. For all the details, check out our Knowledge Base.
