I am using less than 3000 rules total in AdGuard Mv3, you obvious are someone who likes to think that it does not hurt to try, so I won't say it is really over the top, but only suggest to keep the setup with two modifactions (because your selection can hardly be called a selection :) }

Im only using myself:

defaults except url tracking filter:
- adguard base filter
- adguard url tracking filter
- adguard tracking protection filter
- adguard social media filter
- adguard annoyances filter
- adblock languange filter

added filters:
- easylist cookie list
- no coin filter list

The reason im using default filters and few maintained filters is that they are updated frequently, some filters like 1hosts are nice but i dont use them as there is not big company behind them and the maintenance of those filters can get outdated any day

It depends on the kind of browser, the browsing behaviour and the sensitivity of your mum to ads and tracking. If your mum is a frequent visitor of social media, the AG settings are o.k. Also if she does much random browsing. For a set and forget solution with more adequate ad- and tracker blocking than most browsers offer, I should go for Brave browser (without using their bloat). If you want to reduce the number of filterrules, you can find many suggestions on this forum. Also you can think of blocking on DNS level.

I just installed adguard browser extension on friends chromebook, it still gets ads on twitch.tv and one social media site wich is annoying.

You might want to install adguards mv3 extension instead of normal one

but after all install & forget will do its job aswell

There are to many settings to attach pictures so i exported settings of my extension ( u need to change the extension from *.txt to *.json, i wasn't able to attach the json file)
and combined with Cookie AutoDelete and BD Traffic Light on Brave browser i haven't problems so far.
I don't use the MV3 extension.

It's an overlap on fliters because Hagezi Pro++ includes some of Adguard own filters, but like i said no problems so far.

IMO a big disadvantage of AG MV3 (and uBO Lite) is that it doesn't offer a log. If your goal is set and forget and not experimenting with filterlists, than it should not be a problem. Your mums current settings are focused on blocking trackers and annoyances with optimized rules for mobile browsing. If you want te evaluate the effectiveness of the filterlists, you can't without a log.

Does set mobile optimization have a sense?

But if I change to json I can only import rules, am I wrong?

When you block third-party cookies then it makes not much sense to use AdGuard stealt mode, so I agee with @Gandalf_The_Grey .

Adguard's trick to set an explicit expiration date on every third-party cookie (similar to exploding cookies) was an elegant way to circumvent website breakage and limit your tracks. Chrome announced the depreciation of third-party cookies, most advertising services started to provide alternatives. So less websites depend on third-party cookies to function, This is why Gandalf has to set exceptions for only a few websites (making Gandalfs manner of handling cookies less cpu heavy than Kees advice to use stealth mode for exploding third-party cookies)

I doubt that the referer information is blocked (it is in the header, not a param) and I am also unsure about the search search words are being filtered out with AG URL param filter (I thought they covered only advertising and campaign tracking parameters, not actual data being parsed in the URL). So except for these two points of doubt, Gandalf gives a nice motivation for his third-party cookie blocking approach.
