There are no issues, because the update isn't in preview stage anymore. Once it leaves the preview stage, the update is safe to install and Windows will do it automatically. Only preview updates bring issues and Windows won't install those unless you specifically opted to install them.

Turn this setting off and you have nothing to worry about...

Well, no windows/app crashes or stability issues for me.
I have three main issues so far with 24H2: delay in showing UAC prompt, delay during locking windows with Win+L and a very slight lag during windows explorer launch (after launch navigation is fine).
I tried in-place upgrade but that didn't solve the issue.

Edit: There is no option for those having issues after upgrade.

Settings ➡️ System ➡️ Recovery ➡️ Fix problems using Windows Update ➡️ Click on Reinstall now button.

And then wait. Clean 24H2 ISO will be downloaded through Windows Update and installed, without losing any files, data and programs. This should fix any issues you're having. Unless, those problems are the blame of some 3rd party software. Then Microsoft can't help you.

I believe I used that after upgrading early via Installation Assistant, and it didn't fix any problems. But my fault for trying to be an early adopter.

What problems do you have?

After clean installation, I had only one issue and that was with DISM not working correctly. Might have done something myself and deleted something I shouldn't have that caused DISM not working, so I won't be blaming Microsoft for that. This option, however, fixed it for me and ever since then I don't have any issues at all.

Not gonna lie... I'm also curious what the new version brings. But I learned to deal with my curiosity in this case. I just ask myself if I'm willing to be a guinea pig and have broken installation when I could have fully functional PC. Chances are, that one new feature update brings I might not use at all. In the end, the answer is always the same—if I used my PC without it the whole time... I could probably wait for a month or two until it's safe to install for me.

The only reason I installed 24H2 a week after it came out was previous installation felt buggy and could do some maintenance. I also didn't follow what the update brings new though I did hear about Recall controversy.

The best thing is to let Windows do it's thing and you won't have any issues 100%. This is my approach to Windows Update and never let me down.

And that is why I wait until I see 24H2 with the regular updates, like I do right now. I think I have time until end 2025 or 2026 to switch to 24H2. (If I am not mistaken, that is.) Either way I do not have to hurry to get it.

It will update way before the deadline, whenever it's ready. Don't worry. 😊

As I don't need new features and changes introduced in 24H2, I didn't install it yet. I expect to install it sometimes during first half of 2025.
I've set Target Feature Update Version to 23H2, so I don't get it by accident :)
