I believe sites like MT, Wilders Security Forums and BleepingComputer are heavily fortified, right? Don't believe ask the admins.

Any if any gets infected it'll shut down immediately. So surfing them without security software is SAFE
There were reported cases already where so-called safe sites became infected. We're living in a real world where there's no perfect security. A very skilled malcoder can infect sites like MT, Wilders, and others. But like I said, getting infected through these sites is a very slim chance because, like you said, they are "heavily fortified".

Does sites like MT use AppGuard, VS and ReHips?

If not, then they should use this slim combo. They'll definitely prevent malware infection. Everything lockdown at the instance of attempted malware infection

There is nothing wrong if you have the formula protection of 1 AV, 1 Firewall, 1 Anti-Exploit, or even 1 Sandbox mechanism.

The only catch here is, how useful those security software from your everyday task?

For example where using Whitelisting with AV Cloud (SecureAplus) defeats already the usage of traditional approach and instead add on demand scanner for second opinion instead.

Using Anti-exe/Policy based reduced unnecessary of security programs.

---------------------------------------------

Consult yourself, you can have no security programs at all and rely on common sense. ;)

security software cannot help someone who runs cracks. He will ignore every warning in order to make the crack work.

i think you don't know how a website like MT is hosted. it is not on a computer owned by the owner but by a hosting company which supposed to provide adequate protection to their servers.

Most website are breached by using DDOS , hence sites like MT use other technologies like Cloudflare to avoid this scenario.

I don't think sites have antivirus softwares if that's what you're saying. I believe sites like MalwareTips is hosted on a cloud dedicated server meaning they must have all the protection needed. I'm not sure if MalwareTips have cloudflare as their side protection?

You might have a hundred security programs on your computer, but there is an inherent problem with cracks and warez etc: they will usually trigger a response from your security software, because they are doing something tricky. And you can't know whether it is malicious or not. So you will ignore your 100 security programs, and go ahead and run the crack. Sooner or later, you will get infected.

If you want to test out risky stuff that you downloaded, do it in a virtual machine.

I can't trust these software when it comes to warez n etc... It's why i use advance protection softwares like sandboxie. Sandboxie has helped me detect deep coded malware on programs that MV and AV won't be able to do. I use AV and MV for browsing, gaming or editing or possibly downloading minor files from the internet, you get me?

Oh that's great to know MT use cloudflare for advance protection.

good for you, sandboxie is soft virtualization. some programs might not work right, but they will almost surely work in a virtual machine. that's why a virtual machine is a better testing environment
