Gaming mode is a little finicky I recommend you try to manually add the games yourself. I definitely feel a difference in speed. (My computer is a potato..) You can use behavior shield, nothing bad will happen. Don't use both Avast's, Comodo's or Windows's Firewall at the same time and you will be fine.
