App Review Avast Free Antivirus 2020 The most popular freebie... really ??

It is advised to take all reviews with a grain of salt. In extreme cases some reviews use dramatization for entertainment purposes.

Hello ! ;)

Avast is a company based in Prague, Czech Republic.
A leader in free and wearable products, it is very well known in the world of cyber security.
For 2020, Avast is betting its know-how on Artificial Intelligence and the ability to detect unknown threats in depth.
Interface level, no change, Avast remains as it is.
At the performance level, Avast improves on URL and malware detection.
Its Cyber-Capture is just as effective because it has thwarted the trap of fake crack and our home-made Ransomware!
But, Avast still has many shortcomings...
He still doesn't know how to defend himself against an attack.
The JAVA Trojan horse quietly infected the system while Avast was silent...
Another black spot, Avast is in complete retreat from Phishing. None of them have been blocked.
And finally, Avast is accused of spying on its users via its navigation extensions...

Avast is still a good antivirus for a free one!

Avast developers told me, without the extension, avast wouldn't be able to block most of the phishing
The web shield can only block known, verified phishing (outdated). They asked us to install their extension. Obviously, we should not.

combining avast hardened mode aggressive with a total script blocker => very hard to bypass

Exactly, that's the point of the extension, Phishing. Why not? I'm pretty sure whatever issues they had with the extension were solved. The extension is signed by Microsoft, Google and Opera.
