RE: Avast Online Security (Browser Plugin)

Nice find. I don't need to use it, but it's great that Avast are offering this. Good on them.

RE: Avast Online Security (Browser Plugin)

its just using their reputation database like WOT, OR their url protection service which is available with Avast free, is also available with this Online Security ( like Bitdefender Trafficlight ) ??

RE: Avast Online Security (Browser Plugin)

I would take a guess it's Avast WebRep, but now available on Chrome Web Store.

I've not used WebRep to be able to compare the two.

RE: Avast! Online Security + New BETA

Thanks Earth for the share! :) This beta seems to do something unlike the old extension.
May I ask what that extension with a thumbs up icon is?

RE: Avast! Online Security + New BETA

That's AdBlock, it's available on the Chrome Web Store, and Safari. It's green, because I've disabled AdBlock on that domain.

RE: Avast! Online Security + New BETA

Saw this on Comodo Dragon 29 now. I think Ghostery and Avast Online Security extensions are having conflicts with each other.

RE: Avast! Online Security + New BETA

Make that 2, because AdBlock and Avast Online Security (beta) also conflict with one another.

Well I hope it works better than the IE plugin. Over the weekend with avast RC3 I couldn't click on links or do a download. Since updating to the 9.0.2006 my issue was solved but lots of users on avast's forum are still having issues with AOS, particulary with IE and FF.

When I used the earlier beta version, I found a!OS to clash with my AdBlock on Chrome, do you know it's due to Ad-Tracking blocking?

Also I don't think a!OS would work with IE10/11 since Enhanced Protected Mode is enabled by default, unless avast! wants users to lower their protection by disabling EPM.

Now that you mention it, that probably had something to do with why Ghostery stopped working in IE.

Hi, I'm new here so don't know if this is the right place for a general question about the Add-on. On Monday 14th Oct the share buttons and widgets on my blog disappeared along with similar stuff on other sites. I ran a virus and a malware scan, no problems found. After hours of searching, I discovered that everything returned when I disabled the Avast-Online-Security-Browser-Add-on, and disappeared when I enabled it again.Nothing had been installed or uninstalled recently, other than normal automatic updates.

Any ideas would be gratefully received.

Mike.

SafePrice has been added to Avast! Online Security.

Does it mean avast intercepts your browsing when you're shopping online?
