Kaspersky Security Cloud free seemed really good at blocking sites and also has above average protection.I agree adblockers don't offer much protection.
in my opinion, use WD and Edge or chrome with AdGuard as simple if the family is not tech thats safe your family visit social media and simple news? no download anything? online movies?
If your AV has poor web filtering and they insist on FF then this setup with default filters or modified, smaller filterlists (e.g Adguard filters instead of EasyList and Easy Privacy.) Or BDTL and Adguard.
Windows Defender with ConfigureDefender set to High, uBlock Origin at default settings, TrafficLight extension. This should be good enough and shouldn't be a hassle for you to set up because you just have to set this once and forget.
