Troubleshooting Boot Toshiba laptop into Safe Mode to use command prompt?

When I boot into safe mode on my toshiba satellite L305-S5941 to go to command prompt, it sends to toshiba recovery utility where it tell me it cannot determine the machine model, even when I manually enter it. What's my next step?
