WireGuard is a fairly new VPN protocol which is much more secure and faster than OpenVPN or IPsec. If you are looking for a secure VPN solution, WireGuard is one of the best choices: you can set up your own WireGuard VPN on Raspberry Pi and connect all your devices to the server without worrying about the bandwidth issue or data security. This step-by-step guide will show you how. Build Your Own VPN With Raspberry Pi and WireGuard

Just saying this wont provide you any anonymity nor the features of a real VPN , its lIterarily your normal connection with extra steps / a way to vpn into your home network.
No need to worry. Nobody seems interested in this setup anyway but thanks for your expert advice. Even though they say you can access your home and the web " Raspberry Pi WireGuard VPN server to securely access the web and your home network remotely" You say this is not true. If I am understanding you right, you say you can only access you home network?

You maybe could route through your jome internet , but this wouldnt provide the security or anonymity of a shared server from a VPN company.

it would be just "you" ... with extra steps no "anonymity" or extra layers of protection everyone outside that wants to know who it is knows its you.
