Advice Request Cable Internet vs Fiber

Please provide comments and solutions that are helpful to the author of this topic.
Especially since fiber is not far from the price of coaxial cable.
I don't know about other countries, but in France, coaxial cable is still more widely used (with the exception of two local operators, but that's a niche market, it's not nationwide).

In FTTH, I pay 20€/month for 2Gbps download and 800Mbps upload (I had more with another operator, but the network was so bad that I went back to Orange—their online brand, because it's cheaper).

AT&T just finished installing underground conduit for its fiber in my neighborhood. But no date yet when it will be ready, but close finally. :)

It's where I'm at, not by choice as my ISP hasn't laid fiber yet, but, it's been very stable for me for about the last 10 years, if not more.
AT&T just laid down underground conduit for its fiber, coming soon, finally a competitor for ISP monopoly cable in this area. :)

I'm very pleased with Google Fiber. I'm supposed to get 3gps up and down, and I can actually max that out both ways.
