Hi Gents
I am studying ISA design course from which i know there is some respectable OS hardening guides out there on the internet. there are free and paid standards.
CIS benchmark are publicly available and free of charge. i am reading it right now and apply some of their recommendations and it is really very good.

Very late to this thread. First, glad to see someone mentioned CIS here. Secondly, CIS benchmarks provide exceptionally good security. Most everything in CIS benchmarks "maps" to an industry cybersecurity standard such as NIST series 800.
