Comodo CIS Bug fix policy

working overtime to prove how great it is, how they never had a problem and how everyone, the whole world should deploy Comodo, because it’s so amazing (and this is the reason why no more than 5 people are using it).
No one is saying that. They are only saying "I have never experienced the reported bugs."

No one here has ever said that "the entire world should use Comodo."

You can if you want, being aware that in the case of some software, Comodo Firewall being one, where less is best. The less you screw with it, the better it performs.

I know it's difficult for some people to admit that the problem isn't the software as much as the user, but such is the case.

I mentioned Portmaster Firewall in another thread. From all I've read, it seems pretty solid, combined with maybe Win Defender.

Hi Chuck,

I saw your post in that thread, but I couldn't reply there because it was closed for further comments. I did install it on Linux MX-23, even with the required dependencies, but the firewall service would not launch, I can't remember the error message, but I had no success trying to get it to work. Thanks for mentioning it though. Maybe a future release will work, and maybe I could try it on Windows.

I'll admit, I've never used it but have watched a few reviews on YouTube including how to set it up. That's where it was mentioned that default was enough in most cases. That's the kind of software I like because I don't particularly like playing with programs. I want them to install and work. Period.

If Comodo implodes on me, I will probably try it on this laptop, or perhaps one of the old ones I have first just to get the feel of it, then put it on this one.

I absolutely don't screw with it. As an expert user I like to configure it to my own liking. It's the software which screws up my system not the user in this case.

Then the answer is pig simple. For those of you who don't like it, or have trouble with it, or consider it some sacrilegious piece of software.............Don't use it. I simply don't understand people becoming so upset to the point of irrationality because they dislike a software so much that they will harangue, try to insult, embarrass or shame others into following their mantra, and then spamming a thread because a handful of users of that software are being disobedient by using it.

That's a very great way marketing a product... Don't use it if you are an expert. It's only intended for users without knowledge...
I'm not marketing it. I'm just the opposite of you and several others. Whether or not you use it is entirely up to you. What you choose to use is your business and I have enough respect to not post my opinion of your choice.

Basically you didn`t use recommended CS settings so it was you that messed up your system.

Comodo is not the only security soft that doesn`t agree sometimes with a given system.

I'm just going to toss this into the mix. Here's a 3 year old review of Comodo by that guy on PC Security Channel. He recommends Comodo, does admit it can be complex for some people and appears to run it default, as downloaded without the several tweaks most of us use.

Comodo CIS can't cope with expert users who wish to tune CIS protection.
Of course novice users should not touch any CIS setting that's what everybody keeps hearing here and on Comodo forum, do not touch CIS it's dangerous to do so...

Comodo CIS doesn't agree with any system since it came out very long time ago due to lack of bug fixing on Comodo's end...

Because, again for the 8th or 10th time, LESS IS BEST. Obviously, the "Experts" can't figure that out, which makes one question their expertise.

CIS 2024 didn`t agree with my system but I`m finding the latest runs just fine and dandy on CS settings, firewall only.

Trend Micro on the other hand reduced my system to a crawl but I didn`t think it neccessary to bemoan the fact endlessly.

Just move on.
