Comodo CIS Bug fix policy

Want to get Melih and Ozer to order improvements?

I lived in Türkiye for a long while. The concept of honor is still very much a part of Turkish society and peoples' self image. The concept of a person's in Türkiye is similar to that in Japan.

Essentially state: "The problems with Comodo are a reflection of Melih's and Ozer's Kişisel Onur" and you just might get some results. It would take extensive effort on social media. Don't say it on the Comodo forum. You'll get banned from the forum on your first try.

Like most everything in life, the more that people complain, the more likely that they will get what they want. It takes a large group of people working in unison to accomplish such things. Complaining on a product forum generally generates very few results and this is true of all the AV publishers. You have to complain loudly and often on social media (Facebook, X, Twitter, Reddit, TikTok, etc).

If and only if there was a single Türk there which is not the case almost a century.

As I expected, new installers are on the way.

ilgaz Comodo Staff quote:

"Hi all, we are communicating with our Certificate Authority to solve this problem within a couple of days. After that we will create new installers for CIS 2025 (both online and offline) and replace those fresh installers with the
old ones that are currently available."

For Comodo even that doesn't work. They are immune to all complaints and they deny almost all problems. The only thing that staff replies on reported bugs or on other issues on their forum is: "The team is working on it, we'll keep you posted." But you'll never hear anything again from them. Don't call us we'll call you. :ROFLMAO:

More and more people are complaining that installed CIS 2025 version stops working and yet they are still being told you are protected.
Who should we believe?

Even uninstalling CIS 2025 seems an impossible task.

Because Melih's goal and objective was never to produce a bug-free, highly refined software product. So trying to get him to fix stuff is wasted effort. He does not care. I cannot understand why people don't understand this fact:

Melih. Abdulhayoğlu. Does. Not. Care. About. Bugs.

Why does he not care? Because he thinks it is good enough "As Is." More importantly:

Melih. Abdulhayoğlu. Does. Not. Care. About. What. Users. Think. or Feel.

Why does he not care? Because either the user accepts what Melih gives away for free or he would prefer that user to get lost - and he has publicly stated this multiple times in the past.

Plain and simple. Either people accept that or they do not. Complaining about Comodo on a forum changes nothing. Meanwhile, Melih and his pals are in the Bahamas on his $154 million yacht with their womens.

More and more people are complaining that installed CIS 2025 version stops working and yet they are still being told you are protected.
Nobody said that. Melih already said that they are aware of the issues and it only applies to new installs of 2025 with the expired certificate. Neither Melih or Ozer have said "WIth a new install of 2025, even with the certificate problems, you are protected."

Why would people be stupid enough to try to install 2025 and use it with an installer that Comodo has publicly stated creates problems?

fwiw I ran win10_VM with CF 2025 the other day for several hours to update that VM OS and CF seemed fine...

I would not rely on this very short test. How can one be sure that all CIS protection components are operating correctly or even loaded into memory?
Just fIreing up CIS and showing the GUI doesn't say anything in this case.
Fwiw, a person reported that Firewall did stop working (did not show Alerts for apps connecting out).
Maybe there are more protection holes below the surface.

Can we state that Comodo doesn't have a Bug fix policy at all and that Comodo forum is nothing more than a placebo complaining place for people because reporting bugs or issues on there doesn't make any sense?

I have no issues with the installed CF 2025 on our Win 11 systems. All modules are functioning well. I noticed "cmdagent" appeared in unrecognized files, but it didn't affect CF features. Anyway, I marked cmdagent as trusted. CF is running smooth here.

No. Comodo has no officially stated or written "No Bug Fix" policy. It does however have a standard software publishing industry EULA that states what every other publisher states in their EULA: "This software is provided 'As Is." There is no warranty or guaranteed fitness of purpose. Anyone that installs and uses this software do so at their own risk."

The software owner has demonstrated over the years that they are not interested in making the product a fully developed, refined one. It is a free product with $0 revenue. There are no funds available to support development and maintenance of the product. That money comes directly from Melih's own personal pocket and he is not willing to spend any more money to fix bugs.

If you are starving and you come to me and ask me for food, you will take what I give you - which if I am only willing to give you fruit of which some are rotten - you either accept it and eat it or you do not. Complaining that I only offered partially rotten fruit will not help you.

Complaining about Comodo and @cruelsister will change nothing.

Actually, this is how Melih is... the more that people complain about a zero-cost $0 software that he pays for out of his own pocket, the more determined he is to not to fix things. That is his right as the product owner.

Didn't Melih sell his CIS to another company with another CEO years ago?
Didn't that other CEO or other official state on Comodo forum to promise to fix the majority of bugs many years ago?
Didn't an official Comodo staff member ask the community to help categorize / prioritize the 73 bugs which need to be fixed lately?
Nothing is happening to fix any bugs so there is no Bug fix policy even when it is not explicitly stated by Comodo.

Melih is not in charge anymore, he only visits Comodo forum every now and then from the Bahamas on his yacht.

Comodo has 73 bugs. Comodo has "hundreds of unfixed bugs." Comodo is riddled with bugs. Comodo is unsafe to use. Comodo is unreliable for the average user.

Yet, those of us running Comodo in proactive have no problems. Those running Comodo with Cruelsister settings have no problems.
Who is right? The trolls here slamming Comodo, or those of us who actually use it?

All CIS believers deny all problems and act from religious conviction and hold firmly to their belief and nobody can stop them, not here and not on Comodo Forum.

No, I think most CIS or just Comodo Firewall users accept the fact that there are bugs in the software. We also realize that for many, or perhaps most, of us the bugs aren't affecting its ability to protect us. If those problems did allow malware to get onto our machines, we (or I) wouldn't be using the firewall.

According to some here, these bugs have existed since the beginning. As I've said repeatedly, I've used the firewall since Version 4 and it's never failed to protect me. Why should I give up something that is light on the system and, more importantly, what works because a couple of people on a website say it's full of bugs, abandonware, and unsafe to use, especially when after many years of use the opposite has proven to be true?

I completely agree. The best thing about it is its self-restraint, which is its best tool.
What I find really bad is the delay in bug fixes.
Even though the antivirus is $0.

Therefore, it is not worth further dealing with such claims. My experience with this security software is a more serious argument in favor of this software.

You/I/We are/am subject to a placebo effect. We only imagine that we were protected for many years, but we only imagined it, it's a placebo effect. But we were full of viruses and spread them.
Admittedly, the certificate problem is a problem and thanks to @New_Style_xd for making it public. It is unclear whether it is also a security problem. Only for new installations, says Melih.
Security is still guaranteed. Well, I also issued certificates for other software. Since they were no longer needed, I deleted them. So they cannot be misused. That is the crucial point. Cyber criminals are getting better and better. Well, I took a step back with regard to the CIS version.

As long as one adheres to the written holy CIS-setting-usage-bible and as long as one follows the holy CIS-Lord then CIS-Lord will make sure that one is quite protected and quite safe despite the well known disabled IPv6 setting flaw or other known usage inconveniences.
If one doesn't follow CIS-Lord's religious path exactly, meaning not quite following the written holy CIS-setting-usage-bible or making small steps aside, then CIS-Lord will become more and more devilish and untrustworthy and protection will become totally unreliable on one's system.

CIS-believers will always feel protected and safe with CIS-Lord because they simply follow CIS-Lord holy words. There's nothing wrong with that everynone is free to believe in something.
