So, after a massive failure with Comodo Cloud Antivirus, because it's not designed to monitor files outside of Auto-Sandbox, I've decided to test Comodo Internet Security which has a special setting to force Viruscope to operate on a global system level and not just within their Auto-Sandbox. Apparently, it doesn't have any recognizers for general malware and doesn't seem to detect most ransomware samples, but it has in fact caught few of them. Not many, but some. Compared to amazing AVG Software Analyzer results, it performs really poorly. But it works. More like a proof of concept than anything you could really rely on, but now we at least know it actually does something.
