Hi there!

When I started taking more interested in cyber security, I had a challenge in finding a cyber security course that would educate me on the basics of steering clear of cyber risks.

So, after studying the fundamentals, I wanted to help out others in my situation. So me and a friends put together a cyber security course for beginners, that we've just launched.
http://cybersecuritycourse.co/#lessons

The thing is that I believe that it could be much better, in terms of both form and content.

So I'd like to kindly ask those of you who are interested in such a course and have a few minutes to spare to share some feedback on it.

For example, I believe that some lessons are too long, but I'm not sure which parts I should leave out, because I don't want to cut out something useful. Also, other lessons seem like they could use more examples.

I should mention that the course is delivered via email - a new lesson every 2 days.

Thanks in advance for anyone who will pitch in with ideas and feedback! I really appreciate it!

PS: Just wanted to add some stuff:

About the subjects of each lesson, here's what we covered so far:
- security basics
- fundamental security vocabulary
- security myths
- password security
- choosing a good AV and other products to go with it
- how to stop and solve a system vulnerability
- wi-fi security
- email security
- social media security
- cloud security
-protection from identity threats
- detect a cyber attack
- keeping kids and parents safe online while browsing the web
- common sense security practices.

If you were a cyber security beginner, what else would you like to learn?

Also, if you want to review the lessons, just let me know and I'll share the contents.

Thanks!

Is this just for now or it will be able to do it in the winter time (for free)?

Any way to review all the content at once?

Not for the moment, I'm afraid. But you can subscribe and go through the lessons one by one. There's a hefty amount of content, which I believe couldn't be reviewed all in one go.

I really appreciate the support!

It's Andra from Heimdal Security,

amvlad your boss was here long time ago amvlad, Oct 1, 2014

I still waiting for that givaway lol
" Good idea. I'm thinking to do a giveaway here. Stay tuned!"
Strange never saw him again lol amvlad, Oct 7, 2014 lol

There is something very wrong when a security company has to use deceptive methods to prompt them self's

The giveaway will still happen, that I can promise.

In my opinion, it was not a deceptive statement, since no timeframe was given.

Alin is still around, but he's focusing on other things for the moment, since we'll have some big news to share soon.

But if you have any questions from him, I'd be happy to pass them along and get back to you with the answers.

Awesome!

Looking forward to your thoughts about the course!

Have done the first two, seems fairly basic so far but interesting enough. ;)

Indeed, the first two are basic, because we're looking to help users who have little or no knowledge about cyber security, but want to learn how to get protection against cyber threats.

Keep me posted and do send any questions you may have my way!

Is this course still open and free?

Hello!

Yes, it's still open and free for everyone interested to take. Let us know what you think and thanks for your interest!

@Andra Zaharia : you have a button called "+quote" , it allows you do quotes several posts at once, avoiding you to posts several messages ;)

Got the first lesson. Thanks! :)

IMO it dosent matter if it's a course for beginners as normaly many times even those that consider themself " experts " needs a dose of back to the basics. Btw I'm no expert. :D
