First timer running DefenderUI v1.03 and using Win 11 Pro

Questions

1) Why is Automatic Sample Submission enabled in DefenderUI but disabled in Windows Security? So is Block at First Sight working since Automatic Sample Submission must be enabled first? Does that means if I enabled a feature in DefenderUI the same feature will also be enabled in Windows Security?

EDIT : Problem solved. Answer below

When I went to BAFS site and did the test it works

2) When I run gpedit.msc I cannot find Windows Defender Antivirus? Or has this component being removed in Win 11? Does that mean I cannot set Block at First Sight using Group Policy? I'm not running any 3rd-party AV

EDIT : Problem solved - should be looking at Microsoft Defender Antivirus instead of Windows Defender Antivirus.

3) The different security profiles (Recommended, Interactive, Aggressive, Default) corresponds to which i.e. Home, Basic, Advanced, ASR Rules and DefenderGuard? Or each security profile corresponds to all?

4) If I uninstall DefenderUI would the settings be reverted to default in Windows Security? Or I need to set to Default profile first before uninstalling?

Does this provide the same level of protection as configure defender?
Defenderui has its own tamper protection, if malware disables microsoft defender , dui will turn it back

Major difference is probably that dui is always on and configure defender just changes the settings, with dui application has memory footprint

Where is DefenderUI Pro? The official website still shows DefenderUI 1.01 Free.

I've installed it and set the "recommended" mode. It didn't do any changes to the group policies, like acativating MAPS, etc. All group policies show up as "non configurated". Block at first sight shows activaed in DefenderUI but not configurated in group policies. Is DefenderUI making the changes through registry keys instead?

I think it uses Powershell. The settings can be verified with Get-MpPreference.

@danb I have some suggestion here for DefenderUI Pro. Notification about allowing app should be able to move to the top otherwise people that set taskbar as automatically hide won't see notification sometime especially when running program from Start Menu.
Thank you for the suggestion, once we finish up the new stuff on VS, we can switch back to DefenderUI and work on it. I will also catch up on any posts I missed, thank you!

As of today, I am using DefenderUI.
Such a small suggestion from my side.
Is it possible to insert a progress bar during scanning in DefenderUI ?
Today I did a full scan and I do not see this feature.

What dou you mean? it needs to be constantly running for the changes to have effefct?
DefenderUI uses powershell to make changes and if powershell is being blocked from running, the changes will not take effect. Howeve,r Dan says his way of using powershell is safe and UI stops mpst everyone else from using powershell.

I hope that is clear enough for you.
