As far as the circumstantial evidence goes, it is an unlikely photo. It looks too good to be true, positioned right to the plane, soldiers in a perfect formation. It is supposedly the first photo, but it is the only photo, no videos, no press involved. Then again, news became accustomed to use AI generated pictures, since a picture grabs the attention.

Not sure if that Jet can land and take off on Jima.

What happens to Maduro does not concern me, just the photo raised the question of being AI-generated several times on X.com and Reddit.

But, I don't think it's a matter of debate, I consider it to be a "so what" thing, compared to the greater "picture" that Trump had him captured.

What I'm asking about is the ability to differentiate what is fake from real.

I'm doubting the photo.
1. The Jet seams to be a learjet. It needs approximately 4K-5K ft of runway. The USS Iwo Jima is approximately 800 ft in length so landing on that seems impossible.
2. Maduro was taken out by Chopper. That chopper will not land on Venezuelan soil.
3. The background lightning does not seem to be from an Aircraft Carrier.
4. The soldiers face got questionable proportions to Maduro.

Those are just my findings. I'm not from the military or any sort. Just an observer.

I just used my Eyes wide open with a couple of zooms. It's still dark in my area and sunrise will only be up in the next 30 mins. Still in bed catching the news.

Exactly. Without the EXIF metadata, we won't know as that holds the time,GPS location etc etc. We need the original file so we can analyze. Same in malware samples, Phishing Campaigns,SPAM samples.

We need the Originals to verify authenticity.

With Google, you have integrated AI.
It is the AI that chooses the best results for your query, choosing the results that it should show you first.......
If you don't want AI to be omnipresent, use everything but Google.

Unfortunately, DDG and Bing search results are more far than my target compared to Google, Startpage, and Ecosia.
Yandex search is a completely different story, and so Bing.
