Honestly, I would not mind paying for nextdns, I love it with all my heart, but I was under the impression that they do not need it. I will re-evaluate.
NRD throws FPs much more than AI-driven threat detection.Hope is not powered by the same AI as used on Nextdns when I last used Nextdns I had to disable "AI-Driven Threat Detection" since it caused to many false positive, I think will stick to my own ad blocking dns resolver hosted in the cloud for my dns needs.
Not working in my region.DNS4EU is a free, privacy-focused, and secure DNS resolver designed to protect citizens across the European Union. Co-funded by the European Union.
As if anyone sane would use a government DNS, but feel free to choose it. It is supposed to be safe.Free public DNS resolver for Europe | DNS4EU

Even before discontinuation, the regular DNS0 was not working for me, only the Zero variant.to those that set up the service to their tech illiterate family or friends who are about to get complains how their internet isn't working.
People should stop using random DNS services and instead stick with big players in the field. Smaller ones could stop working at any moment without given warning, while that's highly unlikely to happen to big players.
DNS0.eu seems like good idea but it could never be profitable on a long term. They leased servers in every single EU country and yet, for some reason, no matter which network I used, I could never be connected to the one in my country or the neighboring. They also had slower response time than competitors for me.
EU published tender for funding and they could have applied to it so NextDNS wouldn't need to finance everything on its own, and I guess they didn't.
If DNS0 didn't work for you, then it's most likely government censorship to blame. In most authoritarian countries, governments block popular DNS services in order to prevent people from visiting blocked websites.Even before discontinuation, the regular DNS0 was not working for me, only the Zero variant.
