Only if the OS has become corrupted and unrepairable.

or back a fresh install of the OS from a image because have to but because you can and want to?

System backup images are over-rated and a waste of time.

Your data should be backed up regularly.

The OS can be reinstalled from an up-to-date offline OS file (USB), or cloud download (Network/WiFi). A multiple internal drive configuration can be used to save time.
