Troubleshoot During Boot Screen Is Black But System Boots

Briefly explain your current issue(s)

System boots but screen black

Steps taken to resolve, but have been unsuccessful

Reinstalled graphic driver, scanned with antimalware no malware found.

During boot screen black but system boots i.e if looked closely I can see system boots fine & the desktop.

There are lights on laptop keyboard for WiFi & Sound & those glows fine. And there is a HP logo on the back of the laptop cover/shutter that too glows fine.

When I start the laptop sometimes boots fine but sometimes screen black. If I start the laptop & boots fine then subsequent restarts no probs. If I start the laptop & screen black then sometimes on 2nd try boots fine or sometimes takes many try to boot fine.

Help needed.

I am thinking Fast Startup might be the culprit because restarting a PC won't use Fast Startup however when you said after you shutdown the machine and turned it back on you had the display problem so this might be the problem.

Ok, so shutdown & started system after 8 hours & black screen appeared.
On 4th try booted fine & no black screen.

I will check the inverter or take to tech.

One thing I dont understand. On 4th try the system started fine but I didn't do anything i.e didn't moved the laptop, moved shutter front back, etc... just powered off & on & on 4th try started fine, how does it automatically boots fine after few tries?

And 1 post that no one replied & I really want to know as have my doubts-
Could it be the power issue?
This is a HP Laptop & Battery is finished & Charger damaged. I have a Dell Laptop thats damaged. Its Charger works fine with HP Laptop & am using it for a year or more now with no prob. The specs of the charger are almost same so I thought not a prob & started using it.

Here are the specs of both the charger. I think its fine to use as the specs are almost same...what you say?

HP Charger -
65W
Input 100-240V~1.7A(1.7A)50-60Hz
Output 18.5V(18.5V)=3.5A(3.5A)

Dell Charger -
65W
Input 100-240V~50-60Hz 1.5A
Output 19.5V=3.34A

Could the charger be the issue?

If your battery is bad and you are using the charger as your power supply the amperage listed on your power supply needs to match or exceed the amperage required by your device.
If you are using the Dell charger this is not the case and it could be an issue.I would grab a cheap charger for your HP Laptop model with the same specs as you old one and give it a try.It does not have to be an HP brand charger as you will pay more money for it

Do you mean strip & inverter are same for all the laptop & I can use one from old laptop?

No Led and Lcd are different. In many models Led's will have small/thin strips. Where as it's opposite in the case of Lcd. Just check it you will come to know. But its a risk task so I would recommend you to take it to a hardware specialist. And the issue you mentioned need not to be appeared only when you tilt the screen, it happens even when it's stable because of the improper contact between the copper connectors between the components.

It doesn't happen on stable system. Infact once the system boots fine then I can restart or shutdown-start system any number of times without any probs. The boot time prob appears only when system is started after long time like 6-8 hours later after shutdown.

Does it happen if you pull the battery and running on the power supply only and then shut it down and leave it sit for 6-8 hours?

I haven't tried it yet. Tonight will shutdown & remove the battery & check tomorrow & update here.

First remove the battery and plug in the power supply before you shut it down.Then see what happens when you restart it
