Big change: I've had to remove Comodo Firewall for the reasons that I specified in my first post, SAS has been set to on demand only and both Avira and ClamAV for windows have been removed.
The installation freezes my computer, this is after I have uninstalled it.stormgtr said:Did you try uninstalling using Revo Uninstaller?
I'm using PC tools Firewall, not Comodo Sandbox.Dieselman said:Cause of the left over files, folders and registry strings. Thats why. Also why are you using Comodo sandbox only? Why not just use Sandboxie.
I put it in {} and put currently replaced by PC tools Firewall below it.Dieselman said:Well its still listed in your config. If your not using it then remove it from your config so others will not be confused. Thanks.
I've made it clearer now.Dieselman said:Just remove it. How is anyone suppose to know that {} means you removed it. Thanks.
Better off removing it then explain what you removed and why in a reply.
Okay, sorry.stormgtr said:I was just asking whether you used Revo when uninstalling or not.
That was what I had to use to get rid of Comodo Firewall in the first place, the built in uninstaller didn't work.bogdan said:A bit off-topic: One reason why CIS install can fail is leftovers from previously installed version. There is a community developed tool that cleans such leftovers on COMODO forums: link.
set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1
devmgmt.msc
I might do that soon.bogdan said:Might want to give this a try (try at your own risk, backup before...etc.):
- Open a Command Prompt (as Admin under Win7) and type in the following:
What it does: By default Windows hides drivers for devices that are not connected (applications such as CIS also use drivers). The first line from above instructs Windows to allow users to view such drivers.Code:set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1 devmgmt.msc
- Press Enter and Device Manager will show up.
- In Device Manager go to View and select Show Hidden Devices
- Expand the Non-Plug And Play Drivers category
- If you find any "COMODO" leftover drivers you can right click on them and select Uninstall.
